Thank you to YourMechanic for allowing me to try mobile car care service and helping me escape the car care waiting room. All thoughts an opinions are my own.
I hate the car service waiting room. Especially when I have kids. Getting a simple oil change can mean attempting to quarantine my two year old in a non-kid-friendly environment for 45 minutes up to 2 hours. Couple that with the fact that Scarlett won’t sit and watch a movie on an iPad and we’re in double trouble. My car care errands like tire rotations, oil changes and tune ups get majorly put on the back burner, which is terrible for my car. Either that, or I’m shoving off my husband to the dealership or lube shop to deal with the car care waiting room. I thought I had NO alternative to this situation when my best friend told me that she had a mobile mechanic come to her house for routine maintenance and she got to entertain her kids at home and take care of her to-do list. I’m pretty sure I fainted. You mean I can tackle my work emails, blog posts, phone meetings, laundry, feeding the kids and ESCAPE the car care waiting room?! Sign me up! But who do I call? How do I vet a mechanic other than word of mouth? How do I easily set up an appointment? Just like UBER was the answer to less-expensive car service, YourMechanic is the answer to a trusted, convenient, top-rated mechanic.
At first, I expected a simple app or website to book/call a mechanic and the service would arrive, but I was plesantly surprised by all that YourMechanic offered. The smooth, user-friendly interface had me log in to create a profile (and I wasn’t spammed afterwards, either!!), and I entered what kind of vehicle I had as well as the VIN number (in case I got something wrong about my oil choices, etc). It was only a few short clicks to choose the Back-to-school oil change service with 50-point inspection, and I was then matched with a top-rated mechanic and guaranteed services (YourMechanic backs with their 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty). The price for my services was displayed before I had my service, was accurate, clear and fair, and I didn’t have to touch the phone. When I remember that I need an oil change in the shower at 10pm, all I have to do is click my phone… no waiting!
Shortly after booking, I got an email confirmation with my mechanic’s photo, bio, the time of my appointment, my car specs, and more. The mechanic even emailed me after I made my appointment (through the system) and double checked my VIN number to make sure he was bringing the correct parts for my oil change. It was easy to respond in the website’s interface. The next day, when it was time for my service, I was emailed a notification that my mechanic was on the way, with an UBER-like map of his arrival and positioning, with approximate arrival times and contact information. William, my mechanic, also called me to confirm he was on the way. (Great communication, YourMechanic and William!)
When William got there, he was very courteous, professional and explained to me his process. I found out he had been a mobile mechanic for many years and the YourMechanic system his favorite way to book clients and stay busy. My mechanic was also super clean, leaving no mess or trash behind him, and asking only if he could use a grounded wall outlet for his drill.
When I came out to take pictures of his process, I noticed that he had treated my car parts with care, grouping the lug nuts together near each wheel, and treating my car as if it were his own. William’s friendly, knowledgeable manner made me feel like I had made the right choice for at home car care, especially when I was inside juggling household errands and letting Scarlett run wild. In fact, I found her and the dog face-to-face in a deep conversation on my way to the dryer…
Before I knew it, William knocked on my door and was all finished up. He returned my keys and gave me a short vocal post-appointment report and mentioned the YourMechanic system would follow up with lots of information about the visit. There was zero pressure for any new parts, other services or issues that weren’t a red hot safety note. William did everything, down to the little static cling note in the dash that details my date/mileage for my next oil change.
All in all, I was very, very happy with the YourMechanic service. I felt accomplished in my day, I didn’t have to wrangle a baby (which can stress me out), and my care was cared for, right in my driveway. I highly recommend downloading the app, or getting started with a YourMechanic appointment to relieve your stress! The oil changes are the worst. Trying to figure out how to tag team, or who will sit for several hours on the weekend.
Oh, and the fact that we have to do it at all.

Oil changes and brakes are the worst for me. I love this idea though. All the “we come to you” services are totally my jam because I have NO spare time.

Doesn’t matter – any time I have to take my car in, it’s a hassle. I’d rather do almost anything else.

This is such a fantastic idea. It’s never a good time to go to a shop for an oil change. It’s so much more convenient to have this service come to your home or office

Hi,Native to south-central Mexico, avocados belong to the Lauraceae family and are known for their creamy texture and unique flavor. They are often referred to as “nature’s butter” due to their rich, buttery consistency. Avocado trees, scientifically known as Persea americana, thrive in warm climates and have become a staple in many cuisines.

One of the primary functions of a body fat analyzer is to provide a more comprehensive understanding of one’s body composition beyond just weight. By measuring body fat percentage, these devices help individuals distinguish between lean body mass (muscle, bones, organs) and fat mass. This information is crucial for tailoring fitness and nutrition plans to achieve specific health and fitness goals.visbody body composition analyzer

What sets the body mass machine apart is its ability to distinguish between different components of the body, such as fat and muscle mass. This feature is not just a technological feat but a pivotal aspect that contributes to a holistic assessment of one’s physical state. The machine becomes a valuable ally in the pursuit of fitness goals, offering a roadmap for improvement that extends beyond mere numbers. It transforms health assessment into a personalized journey, recognizing the diversity of individual bodies and fostering a sense of inclusivity.
