Yet another cold this year led to another visit to the pediatrician. And another set of ear infections. It’s unclear as to whether or not this infection is a separate instance or a worsening of the one we had about 3 weeks ago. With a heavy allergy to penicillin and it’s relations, Red relies on antibiotic alternatives that aren’t working hard enough. There are shots we can have that are a little painful, and homeopathic remedies, but the diagnosis this time meant a referral to the resident ENT.
Our appointment will serve as our ear infection follow up, but what I’m really wanting to know is if ear tubes are our best bet for Red starting to feel better and to eventually get rid of all his ear infections. The verdict is still out as to whether or not Red will need them, and I’ll be sure to update ya’ll on the results. Hopefully we’ll get some relief soon.
Otherwise, it’s a bunch of mornings like this one, snuggling in the bed and waking up slowly in order to start feeling better!
