Mother’s Day 2015… my 4th mother’s day, and it was really relaxing. I was served my favorite biscuits and gravy in bed by the men of the house, and then got to stay in my PJs and watch TV all morning. Even if it was Octonauts and snuggling Red amongst all the pillows, it was really nice not to have to be anywhere or do anything.
We knocked out other Mother’s Day activities with extended family in the days beforehand, and I spent Friday morning with Red at “Muffins for Moms” at school, which was really sweet. The little guy served me up fruit and a blueberry muffin and we have a private breakfast before his class started. In fact, whenever he looks at this photo (including the moment that I’m writing this…) he’s asking for muffins. He must take right after his mama.
My presents from Red and Chase were SUPER thoughtful – they built me a planter at Lowes and Red took time to carefully choose the plants he wanted to include, and I LOVE little annuals and things on the patio. Since I have an especially black thumb for indoor plants, outdoor pots are the only thing I can keep alive.
I also received cards with Red’s very own signature and my name, something that is quickly becoming one of my favorite sights. Chase gifted me a charm for my children necklace with a girl’s silhouette and made sure to order our baby girl’s first initial… which means that she officially has a name! I’ll be calling her something else here on the ol’ blog, but the fact that we’ve finally decided was a most heartfelt and wonderful feeling.
My afternoon was spent at the pool, binge reading Gone Girl and watching the boys absolutely exhaust themselves in the newly opened pool. It was also our very first trip since we’re literally new to the neighborhood. Fleeting are the days when I can do something like this, because baby girl will be mixing it up for us very soon (8-9 weeks left!)
While I wish my mom was still in town to celebrate with her (I really miss her since she and Dad moved away!!), I felt really really loved by my boys and pending little girl. All of the warm and fuzzies. How did you celebrate? Did you get some relaxing time off, or extra snuggles from your human and fur babies?

It looks like you had a great Mother’s Day! Those fun parent breakfasts are one of the many things I miss about having my kids in public school- so fun!

On Mother’s Day I worked on Sponsored Posts but we did go to Dunkin Donuts first. It’s pretty much a normal day in my home. My girls did make me nice cards at school which was sweet. My adult daughter even bought me a sweet card, so that was good enough.
