Most of y’all know that I grew up in Marietta, GA.  I moved down here when I was 14, so the entirety of my high school years, returns from college, and my married life have been near the historic square.  It’s full of civil war history, reconstruction and modern shops.  The square has such life in it, with theatres, movies, concerts, eateries, local boutiques and antique shops. It’s one of my favorite places to be.  And leave it to the square committees to make it even more spectacular this winter with Marietta’s Winter Wonderland.

Marietta in East Cobb, GA has a winter wonderland and skating ring! New for 2015 via @redheadbabymama

For 2015, the Square is presenting Marietta’s Winter Wonderland and New Year’s Eve Celebration on The Historic Marietta Square from November 20, 2015 to January 4, 2016.  The Square is transforming tonight into a nostalgic Winter Wonderland, featuring an open-air ice skating rink, Santa’s Workshop, multi-story Christmas Tree and the inaugural New Year’s Eve Celebration.  Jenny King, a local artist, owner of Red Door Art Gallery & Studio and a member of the team facilitating this tells us, “The Square often resembles a Hallmark movie on a regular day…to see it transform into a winter wonderland and to be able to share that feeling with everyone is truly amazing.”
