Cruisin’

Hubs and I don’t often go on vacation – we usually have a 4 day (travel included) trip to the beach with friends once a year (when births, weddings, etc don’t cancel the trip!), but that’s about it.
I am very lucky that I’ve been able to go and visit family in SC and TX/IL/MO a few times in the last couple of years, but even as relaxing as those trips can be, they don’t involve a blended drink shielded from the sun with a mini umbrella.

For the first time since BEFORE Red was born, Hubs and I are going on a real vacation.  With sunscreen.  And tropical-ness.  And buffets. (Because that’s what you do on vacation, right!? Wear stretchy pants and eat).  We’re going on a week long cruise since my parents are SUPER kind and watching spoiling Red.  7 days away will be the longest time I’ve been away from the kid by a long stretch.

Of course, I’m nervous for no reason.  Everything will be fine, and Hubs and I will be able to have that week long cruise we’ve promised ourselves for five years.  So, if you don’t hear from me for a week, please send all communications via messages in a bottle.  I’m sure there’s a carrier pigeon that you may be able to train to fly down south a search for a big boat.  Maybe.

Hooray! I love cruises. We did a 5 day one WITH our (then) 3 year old and it was awful. Amen for having your son stay with his grandparents. You won’t regret it! Have fun!!!!
