I recieved a copy of Goosebumps 2 on DVD for review. No other compensation was recieved.

Remember when I mentioned that my husband Chase works in television and film? As I read back on my own posts, I realized I was so excited in 2017 I COMPLETELY FORGOT to write in my posts that he won an EMMY AWARD for his casting work on Stranger Things. His partner and he also have an Artios Award for ATLANTA (which you should watch with your spouse! It’s comedic and artful!). Aside from the wonderful television they create every day, they also have a chance to build in some fun on the side. Remember reading Goosebumps as a kid? Yup. They had a hand in casting Goosebumps 2 for a spooky side of scare.

Now that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has unleashed GOOSEBUMPS 2 on Digital and Blu-ray/DVD, you can get spooky with your kids! January 15, 2019, was the DVD release date, so hop over to your local store and snag some Slappy scare! Red, my elementary school-age kiddo will be just fine as we settle in with popcorn and candy since GOOSEBUMPS 2 has a run time of approximately 120 minutes and is rated PG. There are scary creatures and images, some thematic elements, a bit of rude humor, and language, but it’s no horror film!

Slappy the devious ventriloquist dummy returns to run amuck, in this second installment of the family-friendly franchise based on R.L. Stine’s beloved book series. Standing in Slappy’s way is a terrifyingly talented cast prepped by Feldstein Paris Casting including Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Jeremy Ray Taylor (It), Caleel Harris (Castle Rock), and Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty), with Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians).

Goosebumps 2 Synopsis:

Be careful what you wish for. With their after school junk business, best friends Sonny and Sam hope to find treasure in other people’s trash. But when cleaning out the old Stine house, they open a locked book that frees a supernatural nightmare- Slappy! Now, with the help of Sonny’s sister Sarah, they’re in a race against time to get the sinister dummy and all the creatures he’s brought to life back into the pages before he unleashes total pandemonium!

Based on the beloved Scholastic book series by R.L Stine, GOOSEBUMPS 2 was directed by Academy
Award®-winner Ari Sandel (2005, Best Short Film-Live Action, West Bank Story) from a story by Rob Lieber and Darren Lemke and screenplay by Lieber. The film is produced by Deborah Forte and Neal H. Moritz and is executive produced by Timothy M. Bourne and Tania Landau. GOOSEBUMPS 2 is a Columbia Pictures, Scholastic Entertainment Inc./Silvertongue Films, Inc and Original Film production.

Goosebumps 2 Bonus Materials:

Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Bonus Materials Include a Gag Reel, 3 Deleted Scenes and 5 Featurettes. GOOSEBUMPS 2 has a run time of approximately 120 minutes and is rated PG for scary creature action and images, some thematic elements, rude humor, and language.
