How NOT to Buy Christmas Presents for your Spouse

Hubs and I came up against something a little frustrating, and a LOT funny when it came to purchasing Christmas presents for each other this year.  First of all, our wish lists and purchases were all cheaper on Amazon.  Not to mention we signed up for Amazon Prime, which means free 2 days shipping.  Shop from the comfort of our chairs in our PJs? No Brainer.
But with Thanksgiving being late this year, a week spent on the cruise, and the sick guy, there was no time.  We both bought craploads of presents for each other on the same day.  From the same website.  From the same account.  Come Christmas week, our tree looked a little like this, which made us pee ourselves from laughing so hard.  The UPS man must love our family.
Then it came time to wrap these lovelies in pretty paper and ribbons and handcrafted tags that I got from BJs Wholesale.  But we couldn’t because we didn’t know what the heck each box was.  Since it all came from Amazon, and everything all addressed to me (the account holder), no one could open them until Christmas day… surprises would be ruined on both my and Hub’s front – we love at least some surprises on Christmas day!
All the boxes remained unwrapped and UPS-y until Christmas morning, when we took a box knife and kitchen scissors to all the Amazon Prime tape and scattered packing bags left and right.  So that ought to teach us… make notes to send it to different “people” when we order!
(If you’re wondering how the surprises worked out, Hubs LOVED his stuff, and so did I – he totally outdid himself!)

Haha next time hit the gift wrap option. Then everything will be blue and gold. My husband learned that lesson last year. Lol.

Thankfully we each have our own accounts. That would be funny!

Lol, what a funny predicament to be in! My husband and I have separate Amazon accounts, and he has any packages he orders (for Christmas or otherwise) sent to his work.

Hahaha we did the same thing! Oh crap, quick order some things from Amazon. My hubby ordered his 2 days before me so I knew his stuff would coming first and I didn’t open it but I did see my Falcons earrings by accident and I knew I was getting something hair related (hair dryer) since he left the free shampoo samples in the bottom of the box!

That’s pretty funny! FYI, you know you can put more than one person on your prime account, so maybe next year it won’t happen again?

Ha, I bet it was hard not opening those boxes until Christmas. Nice to hear that your hubby got you just what you wanted. 🙂

I kept some of my gifts in the Amazon boxes since I knew they were gifts. Love your story.
