Premama Lactation Support Drink Mix Review

Thank you to Premama for sending me some packets of Premama Lactation Support to try and review! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m going to go ahead and call myself a success.  I’ve been breastfeeding Scarlett for 8 weeks now, and with two visits to a lactation consultant and plenty of practice, we’ve finally hit a smooth streak.  She’s eating every three hours and finally sleeping a longer stretch at night, which has pretty much made me a new woman.  Granted, I’m still needing a few naps a week, and I’m in bed (no lie!!) asleep at 9ish every night, but we’re doing much better than when we started!

While I’m feeling better about our latch and finding a feeding rhythm, I can always use more help.  I find myself handing Scarlett off to Chase at least once a day so I can take my time in the shower or slip into a bubble bath at night.  Another kind of help I’m trying out? Premama Lactation Support.  I’m familiar with Premama Essentials, which is the unflavored, prenatal drink mix that lets expecting mothers enjoy their favorite drink while avoiding a prenatal pill.  With the INTENSE nausea that I experienced while pregnant with Scarlett, I can get behind a product that won’t compound my urge to lose everything I’ve swallowed.  First trimester issues are no joke!

Premama has a new set of products, and one of them is geared toward Lactation Support.  The drink mix comes in pre-measured packets (28 in a box) and are berry flavored.  Please note that since I was so familiar with the prenatal vitamin version of Premama, I opened my first packet into my morning coffee… Berry flavored coffee is not what you want in the morning!  I chalk not reading the directions up to the fact that I hadn’t yet had my coffee……  Nevertheless, after proper amounts of coffee were imbibed, I went on to make my second Premama drink.  This time, I followed the directions: one packet into at least 12 ounces of a beverage. I can recommend water, a berry drink or a smoothie (my favorite option!!); don’t mix any Premama products into carbonated beverages – the carbonation would be lost as soon as you started mixing!

premama lactation support is delicious and easy to take! #breastfeeding #lactation #bf

When I properly mixed up my first drink, I was pleasantly surprised.  Although the berry mix initially smelled a little chalky, there was absolutely no hint of a chalky flavor. In fact, the Premama Lactation blended so well into my water, it was undetectable.  As I tended to Scarlett and returned to my berry flavored water, the Premama hadn’t settled or separated, either; a delicious win.  I wanted another one, but made myself wait until the next day as to not overload or take too much.

Blended with Fenugreek, Fennel Seed and Blessed Thistle, the Premama Lactation naturally supports my milk production so that I can keep my freezer and my baby full.  It also provides me with Folic Acid, Vitamin D3, Calcium and other essential nutrients for both me and Scarlett.  Pretty awesome!  Premama is being generous enough to offer one of my readers a 28 packet box of Premama Lactation Support for themselves.  Enter using the Rafflecopter below and good luck!

my favorite morning drink is a smoothie. it can be different depending on the day and/or what time i wake up. if im not having a fruit smoothie it will be a veggies/green smoothie or i go ahead and just make (lemon or mint)tea or drink some orange juice if i dont feel like drinking water that certain morning.

i missed the why part but it all depends on what mood i wake up in, how much sleep my baby(8 weeks) let me have the night, and how many dishes are in the sink and if i feel or have time to wash some extras.

My favorite morning drink has to be caffeinated, like iced coffee or an energy drink. I have to keep my carbs down due to diabetes so smoothies/etc are out.

My favorite morning drink is coffee. I like it with creamer and it’s a nice way to start the day.

I didn’t make my coffee this morning, and my husband noticed that I was crankier than usual! 🙂

My favorite morning drink is water. I drink water all day every day, to keep my supply up! But – I like coffee an awful lot, too. 🙂

My daughter has been doing instant breakfast drink with milk as she doesn’t care for milk but is trying to get more vitamins in for the baby.
