***If you’re looking for the 2014 Schedule, please click here: 2014 Holiday Television Specials***
If you’re like me, you LURVE Christmas. And you already have the popcorn in the popper and are waiting for the hot chocolate to brew while the TV stations prep their lineup for the holiday specials. Charlie Brown, Christmas Vacation, The Santa Clause, ELF!, Rudolph and the Grinch – they’re coming!
To help prepare you and your DVR, here is a little breakdown of many of the specials and when they air. This is by no means a complete list, and I’m sure the stations will do their darndest to change this up as soon as they can with additions, switches and new releases, but try to find your favorites and pencil them in. Be sure to leave a comment below and tell me what YOUR favorite Holiday Special is!
Additions:
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, NBC, Nov 28 9AM
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer , CBS, Nov. 26 8PM ET
(all times are EST)

Lindsey Paris says
Yay, thank you for sharing this! I can’t wait!
Lindsey Paris says
Oh, we don’t have cable anymore. I wonder if they will stream any of those.
Lindsey Paris says
time to start recording the movies. haha
Lindsey Paris says
All I have to say is that there is a lot of television I am going to be avoiding for the next several weeks. Thanks for sharing this list.
Lindsey Paris says
Thank you for sharing this list! Very handy to glance at to find great Christmas shows for my toddler.
Lindsey Paris says
This is making me all giddy with excitement! I don’t know which I want first!
Lindsey Paris says
What time zone is this for? Thanks!
Lindsey Paris says
Oh I’m so glad you posted this!! Love watching Christmas films. I need to watch all of the 3 Santa Clauses!!
Lindsey Paris says
Wow, that’s the coolest thing ever!
Lindsey Paris says
Good catch, Michelle – I edited the post to say Eastern Standard Time!! I am unsure it the specials will air later in other time zones.
Lindsey Paris says
I just checked again, and updated ONE scheduled showing of Rudolph – I’ll try to keep updating as they add more! π Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, CBS, Nov. 26, 8PM
Lindsey Paris says
My dad took me to see the first one in theatres – I loved it more because it was our date. π
Lindsey Paris says
Thanks – I get giddy just looking at all my favorites!
Lindsey Paris says
Thanks! π There are so many more that I’m sure they will schedule! I couldn’t find a SINGLE listing for Elf, yet!
Lindsey Paris says
Me too!!! π
Lindsey Paris says
Here’s to that! I am a Christmas fiend – I have a few on DVD, so those will be watched extra, like Elf and MIracle on 34th Street!
Lindsey Paris says
You’re welcome. I always hated searching the TV Guide when I was little. DVR and on Demand is so much better!
Lindsey Paris says
Seriously! Ladies and Gentleman, set your DVRs!
Lindsey Paris says
hopefully they will = Netflix SHOULD have a holiday section, but I haven’t checked it out yet.
Lindsey Paris says
Me too – I’m just as excited as any kid!
Lindsey Paris says
Alright! I think that’s my first print out – wonderful, and THANK YOU!
Lindsey Paris says
oh, boo. I almost forgot. Maybe Netflix will have a holiday section!
Lindsey Paris says
Fabulous! thank you for the pin!
Lindsey Paris says
You’re so very welcome – I start jonesing for Christmas as Halloween passes – Thanksgiving doesn’t stand a chance! π
Lindsey Paris says
Yep…they do. The girls found it yesterday:)
Lindsey Paris says
Me too, the DVR was the best invention for Xmas shows! The Halloween list would be shorter, but we need one!
Lindsey Paris says
Oh wow, thank you SO much!!! It’s often a guessing game so this is SO helpful!
Lindsey Paris says
Thanks for the schedule. I really enjoy sitting down with my kids during the holidays and watching movies that I used to watch with my family when I was a kid.
Lindsey Paris says
This is awesome! I was just telling my Mom that I am looking forward to catching some of the classic holiday specials this year.
Lindsey Paris says
I LOVE Christmas specials and movies! Thanks so much for putting this great graphic together!
Lindsey Paris says
So cool! We no longer get TV, but we often watch online…and when we’re at my parents’ house, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade is always playing in the background! Also, I love the A Christmas Story marathons!
Lindsey Paris says
i have so many favorites hard to pick just one.
Lindsey Paris says
same here!
Lindsey Paris says
no kidding – I could watch it all day long! π And I do!
Lindsey Paris says
you’re welcome – I got giddy just thinking about them all!
Lindsey Paris says
yay!
Lindsey Paris says
You’re welcome! I’m of the mentality that when it comes on TV, it’s special – I can’t shake it, despite the age of the DVR and DVD!
Lindsey Paris says
no kidding – I usually end up missing most of them!
Lindsey Paris says
I feel a little silly admitting this, but even though I can watch a lot of this on Netflix, somehow, watching it on TV just seems a little more fun. Totally counter-intuitive too, considering how many commercials are involved. I’ll be watching Elf over and over and over again!
Lindsey Paris says
Thank you for this π
Lindsey Paris says
You’re welcome! π
Lindsey Paris says
Here’s to that – I have the absolute same mentality. I think it stems back to the day when we couldn’t tape anything on TV, even if we wanted to!
