Air Hogs: Atmosphere – an outdoor toy

Air Hogs Atmosphere - Redhead Baby Mama
New from the Air Hogs collection is the Atmosphere!  It’s an outdoor toy that is part hovercraft, part hacky-sack type sphere.  When we received it, Red was very excited even though he had no idea with it could do – it was NEW!

The Atmosphere requires a few AA batteries and a little charge time, as you may have seen in the above video.  The LED light will glow from red to green to let you know that the charge is finished, and then it’s time to play.

Take your Atmosphere outside to play with it, warning your kids that the propeller won’t hurt them, but will sting if they get their fingers caught within the top half of the globe.  There is a 3 second delay from turning on the product to clear your hands.

And you know what? It actually flies! The Atmosphere will hover over your hands, the ground, or other surface by a foot or two, and bounce back up and down as you direct the airflow with the surface.  Be careful not to let it fly at your face – it can get tangled in your hair.  The base charger is equipped with a sensor and emergency stop button just for that occasion, when you point the base at the Atmosphere and click.  The sphere will top spinning and fall to the ground.

As you can see, the Air Hogs Atmosphere is recommended for ages 8 and up, which is why we had myself and my Dad run it for Red as he watched.  With the snappy propeller and outdoor use, I would have any child age 10 and under use it with adult supervision.

If you have a really techy boy that wants a flying gadget for Christmas, consider Air Hogs.  They have lots of fun toys to choose from!

Wow, I remember Air Hogs being around when I was a kid back in the 1990s (My “boy cousins” loved them!). I had no idea they were still around. This would make a great nostalgic gift for guys about my age who grew up with these. 🙂

I’ve never heard of Air Hogs before, but it seems like most older kids would love them! Like, even a hubby:)

AirHogs are so cool. My son used to play with them for hours. We usually had to get one off of the roof. I know my nephew would love this, forwarding to his mom nowl

I’m glad to hear this really flies. We’ve had some flying toys in the past that didn’t go too far.

I don’t have kids so this wouldn’t be fo rme. Besides, if a kid up to age ten needs supervision, that is a drawback.
