During a layabout couch session as we awaited the birth of Scarlett, I was depending on my computer to entertain my bump and I. Scrolling through Facebook, playing puzzle games and googling pregnancy concerns was the best I had in front of me, because let’s face it, no effort required. I casually mentioned my excitement to my husband, laying across from me, about a new ambassadorship I was extending, and he smiled and congratulated me. We went about our business…
Several minutes later, I had a new email pop into my inbox:
Dearest Lindsey,
Of course, my clever husband was referring to the impending birth and “extending” our relationship for the next 18 years. How sweet is that? All formatting like an official agreement. Adorable. Despite being a “creative” person, sometimes I don’t have the brain for this. It was like the time I went on a trip with my Mom for 4 days and the only written communication we had was in limerick form. I kid you not, it was SO HARD for my brain, but I loved it. My husband’s the best. So, I wrote back, trying my best not to giggle my head off:

That is a pretty lovely contract. I would happily accept such a proposal if sent it from a similar contracting firm.

I love this. My husband sent me chocolate covered fruit the other day with a super sweet note.
They are the best though when you feel crappy and huge from being pregnant!

Your husband is so sweet! I think the exchange between the two of you is so adorable! My husband surprises me on occasion by telling me how much he appreciates me although I don’t see myself as doing much. I guess cause I often do things without thinking about it. It’s nice to be appreciated.
