Backyard Pool Time

It’s freakin’ HOT here in Atlanta. With E visiting for a few weeks and the house a little cramped, we needed to cool off and get out of the house without baking to death. Red was sent a Slide & Splash Dolphin Kiddie Pool from Backyard Oceans a few weeks ago, and now was the perfect time to break it out.  It  was loads of fun.
I managed to blow up the slide in only a few puffs, but after seeing that our bike pump wasn’t useful to inflate the pool, I had to go about it the old fashioned, huff & puff, turn your face red for 15 minutes way.  It was a little painful.  BUT, then it was done. And I’m proud to say that over the last few days, despite MUCH playing, it hasn’t lost any air (do yourself a favor and pick up a small motorized pump… so you don’t make out like the big bad wolf).
I could have hooked up the garden hose with a low flow to the underside spigot for a spray shower, too. I didn’t, so I’m sure that makes me a terrible parent (this will make Red’s memoirs one day, I’m sure of it…) The boys had a TON of fun this afternoon, and I’m sure we’ll be breaking out the pool all summer long. Do ya’ll have any water time in the backyard?
Disclaimer: We received the Dolphin pool from Backyard Ocean.  I was not asked to post nor was I compensated. All photos and opinions are my own.

Water play is summer at its best! I used to do sprinklers even more than the pool, I think!

I’m envious of the sunny, flat yard. 😉 We do have a small pool for my toddler in our back yard. We absolutely love water time in the summer!

We haven’t taken our pool out yet this summer. I prefer to take it out in the morning before the sun is overhead and avoid the heat of the day.

I spent most of my life in Oklahoma, so I get the heat – totally! Ugh! Now that I am in Michigan, I do miss OK, but I sure dont miss that heat!

That is really cool! I can’t believe you blew it up by yourself! I need to invest in a small pump for all this kind of stuff. I blew up an inflatable bowling set last week and thought I’d die!
