Family photos have grown to mean more to me since I’ve had children. Don’t get me wrong, I treasure my photos from my childhood, and nothing can occupy my time more than browsing photo albums from past events or even my Mom’s childhood. But proper, professionally done family photos are so special to me. When Mom and I went to the first Social Media on the Sand conference last year, we were sure to book our Beaches Turks and Caicos complimentary family photo session. I booked it out of pure curiosity, and since it didn’t cost me a penny, I was happy to sit on the beach and laugh with my mom in front of the sunset. The results were so wonderful, I made her do it again with me this year! (And Scarlett, too!)
After visiting the Photoshop, called SnapShots, I booked our appointment for just before sunset on the beach on the day of our choosing. I recommend stopping by the day you arrive so you get the slot you want! We made sure to bring soft colors and matching toned outfits for our session so we wouldn’t clash. Scarlett wore a sundress that was mine at her age; a soft pink number with a large sash on the backside. We met our friendly photographer at the dock, and she escorted us on ly a few yards to the gardens to start our complimentary sitting.
We also took shots on the beach, in a hammock and she was SO PATIENT with our little girl. we took photos for about 45 minutes, and ended up with over 150 shots to choose from! The next day, I stopped back by the photo hut to view our photos and make my selections. While the photo session was complimentary, and there is NO obligation to purchase a thing, I must say that the digital images are well priced ($18 each) with prints being a little cheaper and tons of photo gifts available as well. If you purchase a certain number of images, you get a huge price break and they are all loaded on a CD. I wish (and have called in) that Beaches Turks and Caicos would make jump drives available for photos as no CD drives are in our computers at home!
The photos were so cute! I ended up buying three of them; one of all three generations of girls, one of me and Scarlett, and a precious look at Mom and her together and laughing. The tones of the blue ocean are amazing!! I’m also sticking this great picture of Red and Chase in there from our February 2015 visit, which was the first time Red saw the ocean! SnapShots photography sittings are available from 10 a.m. until sunset at all Beaches Resorts, and I don’t think you should leave the resort without booking your own sitting!
Best tips for your Beaches Turks and Caicos Complimentary Family Photo Session:
- Visit the Snapshots photography shop the first day you arrive. You’ll get the best time slot for your family!
- Leave your sunglasses in your room. We want to see your pretty eyes.
- Book your session for just before sunset; you’ll love the light behind you.
- Encourage your family to act natural. Build a sandcastle, laugh and play!
- Don’t pack matching outfits, but be sure you don’t clash, either. Pick coordinating patterns, colors and tones that don’t fight with one another.

Hello, My family stayed at Beaches Turks and Caicos from 2/23/19 – 3/2/19. On Wednesday, 2/27/19 we did the Sunset cruise on the Kitty Kat from 4-6pm. The photographer took a picture of the 4 of us – mom in a pink shirt, son in a Turks and Caicos tank top, daughter in a white striped tank top and my husband in a grey t-shirt. I missed stopping by the photo shop to get this print Is there any way for me to retrieve it now? Thank you so much for your help. Katrina Cross
