This lightweight spray works the same as the more natural oils do in your home. Shake, spray and go. The shaking I was used to. What I wasn’t ready for was the DRY finish of the spray, the even spritz of the nozzle (once primed) or the pleasant scent that accompanied Stay Away Mosquitoes.
To be totally honest with you, we have a mosquito service in our forest-y yard, which helps cut down on the buggies, but I’m still bait once we hit the playground. I took the spray with me to an untreated field where we were going to watch fireworks for the summer… a true test for my blood sucking buddies.
The Stay Away Mosquitoes bug spray should be held about 6″ away from your target, or else you will get a zinc-sunscreen colored gathering of liquid on your skin. You can easily rub this in with your hands, and not get it all over your clothes. I rubbed down my legs, my kids, my neck, and even spritzed it on my hands to dab around my face (keep it away from your eyes, mouth and use sparingly on your ears). Then, I set up camp for the afternoon and evening in the field with snacks, drinks, and glow sticks.
Good GOLLY, y’all have to try this. I was floored with my results. I never had to reapply the spray (it recommends once every 8 hours, and it means it… lasting power!!). I had ZERO bugs on me all night long, ZERO spray smell, ZERO oiliness, and did I mention NOT ONE MOSQUITO BITE? The tailgaters who did not bother to spray themselves, however, certainly had welts on their legs from our southern state bird (a mosquito joke for you!).

I wonder if this would be good for dogs too. I’m always looking for a safer bug spray for my family.
I’m so glad that this worked for you! I received a sample to review & I love that it doesn’t stink like my normal stuff but…..I need Deet! My legs were covered in bites after just a half hour outdoors. I really really really wanted to love this stuff but it just doesn’t work for me 🙁
