It’s AUGUST already. I demand to know where the time is going. As I’ve gotten older, days fly by and seasons pass faster than ever (at least that makes winter shorter!) and that means that Red is growing up so fast! If you remember my post earlier this year about my late New Years Resolutions and getting myself to feel better, I’m keeping myself accountable by checking in. In the beginning of the year, I wrote to myself, “Dear Self: Don’t forget how awesome you are. You trained for a half marathon, are a pretty cool Mom, and have learned to follow a recipe like a BOSS! Keep drinking water, eating right and you will feel the results. The number on the scale is just a number. Feel better, live well, and love yourself. Love, Me” I’ve done really well since that time, completing my Princess Half Marathon in less than 2:45, lost 4 pounds for good, gulped more water and have been spending more time with my family! I feel so good about that and feel much better in my own skin!
While I’ve made some serious progress in terms of my health, my continuing genetic high cholesterol is still hanging on and I’d love to knock a few more pounds off. To get me motivated, I’m staring the gym in the face, signed up for another 10K and am shopping around for a pedometer. (Anyone have a “bit” that they like? There are soooo many to choose from).
I’m also continuing to choose tasty protein-filled snacks like roasted cashew and Zone Perfect’s Perfectly Simple Toasted Coconut Bars. Seriously, these things are the BEST. Zone has some not-so-tasty flavors, but the simple line falls in line with clean eating and I LOVE the coconut ones. They are awesome! If you want to try a few yourself, Zone Perfect is being kind enough to share a little giveaway with me! Enter the rafflecopter widget below to win a pedometer, tumbler, lip balm, hair ties, hand sanitizer and box of ZonePerfect bars mailed directly to you!
I didn’t make a resolution this year! So, yes- I am doing it!! Thanks for the giveaway!
I didn’t make any resolutions this year. I just wanted to focus on being the best me everyday. π I really do need to make some changes to get me there though.
I didn’t make any resolutions this year since I always break them. But I need to start on a weight loss journey and stop procrastinating.
I’ve been considering getting a “bit” also but I have no idea which one would be best. It’s so hard when there are so many to choose from!
Ps. I’m pretty sure your baby is the cutest baby ever.
I was a part of the Zone Perfect. Challenge. But I kind of feel of the wagon with the birth of my son in March and a lot of recovery on my end.
I’ve jumped on the bit/tracking band wagon. And, I’m trying to meet my goals. I’m also doing the elliptical every night and trying to walk during the day more!
Aw, thank you! π That is so sweet of you to say!! Made my day!
Thanks for the boost! π
Heard that. Be your best everyday, one day at a time!
no prob man! The tumbler is actually really nice!
Go girl! That elliptical can build some muscles!
I made no resolutions.. cause I knew I would forget them and in the end not keep them.
I keep delaying my calorie tracking and attempt at exercise. Last time I said I’d do it when school starts. Ugh, guess I’ll be chowing down this weekend!
For the most part, I am doing good with making progress on my resolutions. I still have a few to cross off the list before this year is over.
I don’t even remember my resolutions! Lol but yay for you sticking with yours! I need to get myself in gear to loose a few pounds over here!
I need to check in on myself too! I’ve been so overwhelmed this summer.
Congrats on meeting your goals π
So far so good! Good job to you!
Yes I have
My husband and I got into T25 in the last few months. We probably do it about 2-4 times a week and then add in weight training. I’m addicted to working out now and feel off if I miss too many days in a row!
