The Cars 3 Toy Model Kit was provided, all thoughts and opinions are my own. No other compensation was received.
I remember when Red was only 2 years old. For the first time, I put Cars on the TV, honestly if only to give me a break. But instead of picking up my magazine while he became enthralled with the flying steel and roaring engines, I ended up on the floor with him. To watch the movie I had seen 100s of times. To see his face when Lightning first said, “KA-CHOW!” And it became such a turning point in my parenthood. I started to play cars with him. We collected matchbox cars and played “roads.” We drew towns in chalk on the patio and drove around, and I’m pretty sure that first viewing was the catalyst for his love of vehicles. Soon, Planes followed, and Cars 2, and now, Cars 3 is about to be released into theatres. I’m so excited to take Red to the movies to continue his love for cars, and to keep sharing my love of Disney and PIXAR with him. It’s a great way to share something with my son as he continues to grow.
Cars 3 (from Walt Disney Studios and PIXAR Animation Studios) is racing into U.S. theaters on June 16, 2017, and to celebrate the new movie, Red and I put together a Revell Junior Kit model of Lightning McQueen. A rolling, scale model of one of our favorite PIXAR heroes, Lightning has an internal motor with sound and activates his headlights (that he had installed in Cars 2, yes?!) with the push of a button. And let’s be honest, Red was clamoring every morning for me to set up the tripod and camera to make our video. He was so excited to do this with me!

So cute! We are going to have to get one of these. Can’t wait for the new movie to come out.
