This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate. All opinions are 100% mine.
I first met Hubs when we were 18 years old. We dated for a few weeks in the spring of our senior year, broke up and found love again almost seven years later. We both dated other people in that time, grew up, went to different schools, and rekindled our romance in 2006. People ask me all the time – why didn’t you keep dating? Wouldn’t you go back and change anything? I have to tell them that we broke up as high school was ending, and no, I wouldn’t change a thing. Sure, it’s always hard to break up and move on, especially considering the absolute dating turmoil we both went through. But we got through it all, found each other and have the most rewarding life to show for it.
I have to consider the butterfly effect – changing one difficult event may have changed all my good life moments now! I needed to push through all the hard times, getting them to the side before I can enjoy all these wonderful moments. As you may know, we went to a wedding together this past weekend, and it allowed Hubs and I to take in a wonderful dinner with friends and especially each other – I wish I could bottle those hopeful, lovely moments and hold them forever.
Allstate Good Life and I want you to think about the good times in your life. Don’t be afraid of the muck and bad when there is so much good in the world. Now, think of a good life story of your own – was it a special occasion that you celebrated? Maybe you’re trying desperately to cling to a moment in the now. Enjoy the age of your children (they grow up way too fast!) or try taking a walk in an ordinary place and finding the charm. Share your good life story with me by leaving a comment below!

My husband and I met at the end of March 2006, were engaged by mid-April, and married in July. It was a whirlwind romance, but it was just right for us! I am so glad that you and your husband were able to reconnect. You have the most adorable baby boy EVER. Heck, you are the most adorable mama! (And hey, I was giggling while reading your post because I kept “hearing” it in the Allstate dude’s voice. Strange, right?!)
