Now that Halloween has past, I can’t help but dream of bright, twinkling Christmas lights and all the beauty they provide. Cinnamon, Evergreen and Snowberry smells linger throughout my house and I’m humming the Charlie Brown Christmas album even before my husband has pulled the spooky decorations back up the attic stairs.
Our new dining room, while filled with antique furniture, needs a modern, fresh holiday touch. A reindeer theme runs throughout my holiday decor, while my husband prefers Nutcrackers and Red loves to see snowmen. Since the dining room is really my space, reindeer imagery reigns supreme. I visited my local At Home store (I used to know it as Garden Ridge) since the prices are so fabulous to see what I could use to decorate my space for my favorite Christmas holiday!
At Home really is a one-stop-shop for anyone to decorate their entire house. I only spent 30 minutes perusing the 15 styles of At Home Christmas Decor, split up into their own aisles and sections before choosing my items. (And that was with both kids in tow!) It was very easy to choose my colors and theme. As you can see, Red was lost in wonder over the yard inflatables and 101 varieties of Christmas Trees.
I’m thinking we need a return trip just for Red and Scarlett so they can find a Tree for Me that they can touch and play with. I saw several small trees and non-breakable ornaments that would fit the bill perfectly! The everyday low prices mean that I can fill their little tree with all the ornaments and light strings it can hold!
My favorite decor collection was filled with silver and gold, which reminds me of that song in the holiday classic, Rudolph! I snagged two gorgeous crystal laden reindeer for the top of the china cabinet as well as shatter-proof ornaments to fill a china bowl (I just KNOW Red will start picking them up and collecting them…). I nearly squealed when I found silver jingle bell napkin rings, since I’ve been craving them for the past few years (it’s all your fault, Pinterest!!). I added my already-owned crystal candle holders and a pair of Nutcracker salt and pepper shakers.
Since the large crystal deer occupy an upper space, I still wanted to bring the silver and gold theme down into the table with the reindeer image. I happened upon a table runner (which is perfect for my smaller table) that featured a gold sequin reindeer head. I laid the mini sleigh bell napkin rings on top to tie in my dual metallic theme.
The end result is a more modern, completely themed dining room tablescape that only took me 30 minutes to peruse, pick out and buy. I was very impressed with myself! What styles or tones do you use in your home to decorate for the holidays? Are you inspired by your traditions, a theme or a holiday song?

When it is about the coming Christmas, the festive season seems to be incomplete without crystals. These gemstones are perfect to make a beautiful holiday gift and yes, some of them have a greater significance. If you are planning to buy one for your Christmas, you can go for Chiastolite, Opal, Goldstone, Quartz or Sapphire.
