It’s almost Valentine’s Day and we are starting to celebrate! Ever since Red learned about different holidays and started helping to establish our family traditions, he’s been enamored with growing our decoration collection. Since the upcoming holiday of love will be no different, we sat down to enjoy a new episode of Creative Galaxy, “Heart Day!” This lovable new special will thrill the little artists in your family, as well as those artistic parents! Creative Galaxy was new to me, but being Prime subscribers, we started watching an episode a day to ready ourselves for more crafts together! Red and I created a Creative Galaxy Heart Day Hug Wreath inspired by our new favorite program to show our family that we love each other. It’s very simple for your and your kids to do together!
Here are the supplies you’ll need to create the wreath as well a full TUTORIAL VIDEO:
3 yards of heart tinsel garland
Fun Foam Sheets or Hearts
Red and Pink Pipe Cleaners
Heart Jewel Stickers and Other Small Decorations
First, we traced each other’s hands and cut them out of fun foam. After that, we had a blast decorating with glitter glue, stickers, and other small jewels. This was Red’s favorite part! Using some scissors and pipe cleaners, I helped Red attach the decorated hands into the tinsel wreath we had wrapped together.
I used some extra heart ribbon to create a hanging loop and placed our Epiphany-inspired creation on the front door. Red was so excited about our Creative Galaxy creation, I actually had to relocate the wreath inside where he could see it all day long. He said it reminds him of our hugs as well as the hearts that shoot out from Epiphany’s hugs.
In “Heart Day,” Epiphany (Kira Gelineau) is ready to show her love with a special performance on Groovopolis, but she accidently ruins her costume before the show! She and Arty (Meesha Contreras) fly into the Creative Galaxy for a solution and together they help all his friends along the way learn that everyone has their own special way of saying “I heart you!” Samantha Bee (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee) and Jason Jones (The Daily Show) guest star as Arty’s parents, and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb lends her voice as Melody.
