Dooley was Hubs’ and my first baby. He’s four years old now, and still a cherished part of the family. We tease that he is one of our children, just like Red. This big lug goes for a checkup once a year to get all his shots, and he doesn’t mind it for the most part. (He especially likes the car ride).
This time around, we went to a new Banfield location MUCH closer to our home. Less than 3 miles from the house. Better than a 25 minute drive! The new vet (Dr. Tanner) was super nice to Dooley. He was much more knowledgeable than our past vet, and I feel that he is very capable! Our exam room had a little TV to show pets running around with their owners and about Banfield policies. Dooley was entranced:
Of course, when I took the photo, Dooley looked away. Boo.
And then to his Mama.
When we got home, he was feeling great, but the Vet said Doo was overweight, which is very easy for bulldogs becuase they are soooooo lazy. He needs to get back down to his former, slimmer 55-60 lbs. Doo’s food is being cut back a little in order to help drop those pesky pounds.
Now if he’d only go on a walk with me past the driveway.
Naturally Mindful says
He is handsome! I have an overweight dog too, a 24 lbs wiener dog that should be about 14! She came to us like that and for an 11 year old losing weight is not that simple!
