Happy Easter/Passover/Spring Solstice 2016! Whatever you may celebrate, I hope you are having a wonderful spring and not getting too much rain! Here in Atlanta, we had a clear morning for egg hunts and travel, with a wonderfully rainy afternoon for a post-feast nap and movie session. Early on in the day, Red and Scarlett pored over their Easter Bunny baskets, full of age appropriate goodness, and then we slammed some casseroles into the oven and got gussied up to see family all afternoon. Some of the best parts of family gatherings are seeing your cousin friends and playing all day!
The special treats sent from St. Louis (Thanks Mom and Dad!) as well as those shared here in Georgia are very special we loved each of them! It almost feels like a wedding with something old (my pink smocked dress from 1983), something new (a white easter bonnet), Something borrowed (Scarlett’s easter basket from my brother’s childhood) and something blue (Red’s snazzy Easter get-up, complete with new loafers and straw hat!).
Each year since we’ve been a family (of three, at least) I’ve taken an Easter family shot. Be it a full portrait or a simple selfie, this bi-yearly tradition is never one that escapes me. I nearly missed it this year in the hub-bub of activity, but stole my loves away to the back porch for a quick snapshot.
After a HUGE and yummy lunch, Grandmartha visited for a little bit to kiss on Scarlett and the rest of the kids. She had plenty of prizes in tow for Easter, which the kids AND the adults were excited about – Thank you, Grandmartha! We were so happy to see you and hug your neck!
