Thank you to Russell Stover for sending us complimentary chocolates.
Even though it’s no different from last year, my head is spinning as spring approaches. While I have the usual workload of teaching, writing, and household-keep-it-togetherness, I’m also anticipating a few trips like the Mom2.0 conference and my pixie-dusted invitation to Disney Social Media Moms. Since there is no breathing room in sight, I’m helping our bunny get his Easter baskets in line a little early.
For instance, I noticed that while Red has my hand-me-down Longaberger Easter Basket, Scarlett didn’t have anything for her first egg hunt. (Yes, I know that a tiny baby can’t hunt for eggs, but she needs one for the future and her first Easter Photos!). Luckily, Mom knew where my brother’s matching basket was and shipped it to me. Thanks, Mom! Just as I had made a green polka dot liner for Red, I likewise snapped up a gathered Easter liner for Scarlett’s basket, too.
The Easter bunny made sure to pick up some essentials and treats the next time he was at the store – no special trip means less errands to run! I also pulled out our decorations in time to entertain Red on a dreary afternoon; he helped place all our bunnies around the den and even though he knocked this rabbit’s drums right off, Red was still more than content to have him standing around the desk area.
For Red’s Easter basket, our bunny snagged some seasonal flatware, a special new car toy, and yummy chocolates in different shapes and flavors. I told the bunny to throw a few plastic eggs in there with some tiny surprises, too. Oh, and the “chicks love chocolate” bar? I die laughing every time I look at it. This mama chick, indeed, does love chocolate. Red better watch out for me when it’s time for the bunny to place his Easter basket!
Scarlett’s basket is a little simpler, with our favorite Beech-Nut foods, matching flatware and a few baby-safe toys. No candy in this little girl’s treat area. She’s not even active enough for puffs or cheerios, so these little things will have to do.
Our bunny may or may not have added some prizes for Mom and Daddy in the scheduled Easter pile… like tropical flavors and little indulgences. Maybe he should bake some cookies for Daddy? Daddy, after all, is the cookie monster in the house. <3
Having these baskets all stuffed and ready to go is a relief for me. I mean, the Easter Bunny. He can whip them out of the cupboard on Sunday morning just in time for little ones to wake up and come downstairs. Cross that off his to-do list and move on to the next activity!
