When Red was first born, we immediately wanted to get a photo of me, Red, Nonna, Nana and Granny. There were 5 generations alive at the same time, and that was a lot to us! (Hubs has a four generation photo of the men in his family from when he was 1 year old). Red had turned one month old, and we packed him up in the car and jetted to Spartanburg.
We met Nana and Granny at the Marriott, had a nice lunch, and got ready for our photo. Red was decked out in white with little duck embroidery outfit. It was a little sleep gown for 6-9m. Yup. That big of a kid.
Red loved to look at Granny. She doesn’t remember much of what is new, but she hangs on to old memories with a steel trap of a mind. She sang Red songs and played him the harmonica (better than any modern musician!). She told him stories about Commodore, my 3x great grandfather who fought in the civil war. She called him “all boy”, and that has held so very true.
My great Aunt Priscilla got us published in the local paper 🙂 I’ll be sure to add the article to Red’s baby book. Who knows, it could be of serious use to his genealogy one day! How many generations do you have living right now? Do you have photos with any of them?

I am also fortunate to have 4 generation on both my parents side, Mom and Dad. I have pictures, but don’t know how to put them here in my comment. Anyway, 5 is very impressive, I would love to read the article.

Thanks!! You should use it for a Mommy and Me Monday on Krystyn’s site. You don’t have to have a blog, just a picture 🙂 How special that you have 4 on BOTH sides – that is awesome!
