How about this for a flashback? We’re talking 1865, here. This is my paternal 3rd great grandmother, Sarah Rucker. Everyone called her Sallie, and I’m not even sure that her grave reads Sarah. (I know her Bible entry reads Sallie).
I’m very pleased to tell you that she now “lives” at my house. My Grandparents said that I could keep the portrait, and I’m really excited about it. When I was a little girl, I always thought I looked like her, especially in the eyes (but hers were brown/hazel). She hangs in the front hall, and reminds me of how far my family has come.
