For this flashback, we’re visiting the good ole’ days when Red was an inside baby. These were some of his FIRST photos :
Here’s Red as a kidney bean. Or, one of those lima beans you grow in 3rd grade science. Either way, he was tiny and the only thing moving was his little heart.
If you’re not sure how to read an ultrasound, here’s a diagnostic on what your baby looks like at 7 weeks. There are two little arm buds, leg buds (they haven’t really formed into limbs yet), a brain cavity where the brain will develop, and spinal tube forming, and a yolk sac (embryo’s food for a little while until the placenta develops).
These next photos are from our 20 week ultrasound session, which was a Level 2 ultrasound. Level one ultrasounds are much like the one above – an easy quick peek without took much detail. Level 2s can look for deformities, gender definition, and usually gauge the baby’s weight within a few ounces (Level 1s can be 2 POUNDS off).
Red waves hello to all his future friends and family members!
Our first detailed profile shot. It was this session that made me think he would grow like my brother… which he is doing!
Two little feet with ten tiny toes.
Wave hi! And then start sucking your thumb!
It was kinda nice to look back on all these shots! I have most of them printed out in the baby book now. Do you still have your ultrasounds? Or maybe you’re in wait to see your little one for the first time! Leave me some comment love about your baby’s first photos!
