I had the great pleasure to join a fabulous group of bloggers headed up by Julie of Balancing Mama to shop for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta family and choose toys for the children’s Christmas. Funds were donated by Ford in celebration of the season and the C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energie cars. You can see a demo of the neat-o foot activated lift gate below!
After all the fun we had playing around with features of the Ford C-MAX, we headed to a local box store to divide into shopping teams. Each of our three teams had the task of purchasing toys for the children at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta with 48.00 before tax. The team that gets the closest without going over the allocated budget would be declared the winning team and receive a nominal prize.
We chose several markers, crayons, Little People type toys and an awesome superman-cape set. I can just imagine a little kid running around the halls with it!
After the big checkout scan, who was the winner but ME and Meghan of Jamonkey!! We were only TWO cents away from our total, which was over 20 cents closer than anyone else – YEAH!
The haul that all the team members gathered was quite large and fit perfectly in the C-MAX trunk. I’m so glad that Ford was generous enough to help donate all these toys to the hospital! Thank you Ford Southeast!!
Thank you for the post – so glad you could attend!
Y’all did awesome! We had some adding difficulties.
truthfully, the kids are the winners. What a haul we stacked up – it was a bunch! 🙂
You’re more than welcome! I am honored that I was able to be a part of it!
I saw some of the instagram posts love this and I could not beleive all that stuff fits in the trunk.
I found your post at the Mommy and Me linky. This is awesome! I would love to find something like that to do with my kids! My goal for Christmas this year is to find more ways to give to others with them. Thank you for sharing this!
Wow that’s a big trunk! Having to shop for giant bags of dog food I think my hubs and I need may need to think about switching cars lol
Such a great thing that you did for Children’s hospital! I can picture a child running around with the cape, too!
That’s very cool.
Thanks for visiting! I’m so glad you took the time to comment. Our family usually does a Toy for Tots or a special gift that;s been requested by a family, but this was the first trip for Children’s that I have made. It was wonderful.
RIGHT?! I couldn’t believe how spacious it was. Usually you think of a Hybrid car being tiny.
lol. A super big trunk – I could fit tons of groceries in there!
Me, too!. I could picture myself running with the cape – sometimes you need a break from reality now and then!
thanks – it was fun and helpful!
You guys did good! I The kids are going to be so happy with everything!
Thanks!! I hope they like it. At least it will keep them occupied during treatments and such. It was a big haul!
This sounds like such a great program. It is nice to give gifts to kids in need. That trunk had room for lot of toys.
I love shopping for children in need during the holidays, and it warms my heart to see that Ford Southeast was so giving!!
Oh my gosh, this is so so amazing! I love hearing about things like this.
This is really great- and congrats on being the winning team!
THAT is one of the most fun blogging things I’ve seen! Kudos Ford!! We here in CT would be glad to follow suit!
