Breakfast is serious business in this house.
My husband, Chase, is an excellent chef in the morning, concocting everything from delicate medium, farm-fresh eggs to huevos rancheros and made-from-scratch oatmeal. I secretly love it when he brings up a piping bowl drizzled with cream and my coffee, made with love, to the bedside where I’m usually nursing Scarlett early in the morning. But with Red in Pre-K and our dizzying (and non-ending) schedule this fall, a luxurious start to the day isn’t always in order.
So what do I say to a bleary-eyed Red as he stumbles into our bedroom, dragging his blankie behind him as he sweetly requests a pancake breakfast? Checking the clock before I cow-tow to his order, I realize we only have 25 minutes to eat, find clothes, nurse Scarlett, clean up and brush our teeth before heading out the door. Not nearly enough time to get squirrely 4-year-old through those motions AND a special breakfast before we’re late.
This is where a frozen, preservative free, no transfat, honestly fluffy-as-fresh pancake comes in. A single serve packet of three heats in just 60 seconds in the microwave, making a balanced breakfast an easy reach. In fact, we were lucky to have these complimentary pancakes delivered to our door by the De Wafelbakker’s pancake-mobile. Check out our visit below:
If you never told me they were frozen, I’d never have thought it. Maybe this will give Chef Chase a break from preparing those lavish breakfasts on the weekends! If you want to try these yummy breakfast pancakes yourself, hit up the Kroger family of stores and choose buttermilk (Red’s favorite), blueberry or chocolate chip flavors.
If you can’t find the pancake-mobile in Atlanta out and about, request a housecall on Twitter using the hashtag #DWBpancakes for the chance to have pancakes delivered right to your front door. House call winners will also be eligible to win a Kroger gift card by posting a photo.

no kidding. Those are the best points about them. Except the taste. Or the convenience. Who am I kidding… these are great all around!
