Frozen in Summer DIY Ice Cream Cake Decor

Our family was given a free Ice Cream Cake to test our decorating skills to celebrate National Ice Cream Month.

I can hardly believe Scarlett is two! It feels like she was just born yesterday, but to see her is to be loved, entertained, and hugged. She has developed her own personality, and buddy, can this girl TALK! New phrases are developing every day, and I’m so excited that she’s starting a little schooling in the fall. To celebrate her milestone, we wanted to throw a summer party with a cool twist. Since Scarlett loves Olaf and all things Frozen, an “In Summer” ice cream cake party was just what she wanted.

That, and the Anna/Elsa balloon from Publix she’d had her eye on for SEVERAL months! Here’s a speed-style video of our Olaf cake decor, but don’t hire me out for cake writing. It’s way harder than I thought!

Despite my icing font challenges, the final result, complete with sunny flowers and Elsa shimmer was delicious and perfect for a birthday in July. It’s National Ice Cream Month, after all!

Scarlett was so pleased with the end result, she almost didn’t wait to blow out her candles to get started on dessert!

Full family cheese to record that we were all there! It’s been such a busy summer with travels, vacation, visits to family and sports, I’ve hardly sat still, much less had to include photos of us hanging out. It’s a nice reminder to get in front of the camera (Thanks, Krystyn!) and smile.

Never doubt the power of Ice Cream Cakes to bring happiness, and a little fun mess to go with it. Happy Birthday, Scarlett! It’s your cake, so make a mess and enjoy it. I’ll be following along behind you with an army of wipes!Frozen in Summer Ice Cream Cake with Olaf
