Disclaimer: Zone Perfect has provided me with a yummy box of snacks and some information to help me along my path to continued wellness during 2014, and has asked that I share my plans with you. No other compensation was received, and comments and opinions are my own.
We are well into 2014, but it’s around the end of February that I start slipping on my resolutions and goals. The Princess Half Marathon has my running and exercise still pumping with great success, but I’m starting to crave my sweet tea and maybe some chips for a snack when I catch myself and redirect. Zone Perfect bars, which I first encountered at the Type A Parent Conference, are pretty tasty little snacks (not meal replacement bars) that come in a wide variety of flavors. I was most excited to see the simple line, which have no unnatural ingredients and can be considered clean eating. They even had kids flavors in smaller bars which are perfect for after sports or school. Yet, even with my love for clean eating and fresh foods, the regular Chocolate Graham bars are sooooo yummy (there were only 3 in the box, and now they are all gone!). Some of the other flavors were a little dry, or I didn’t care for the combinations. Replacing a trashy foods snack with a Zone Perfect Chocolate Graham bar or a piece of fruit would certainly increase my chances of feeling well!
When I opened the box to detail out all my snacks, I came back a short while later to find this:
Hubs had been snacking. So much snacking, that in a few days all the simple bars were gone with the wind stomach. Hubs likes them, too! In other resolutions, I’m doing a pretty good job of keeping up: Drinking more water, spending less money, and not spreading myself so thin with work. After all, saving some sanity should be considered a resolution priority! Take a look at these ideas that Zone Perfect offs to keep you going the rest of the month. Now is not the time to turn back!
I always try to look back on my resolutions at the end of the year to make sure I followed them as closely as I can. (That is, if I can FIND them. Note: Improve organization). If I could write myself a little note to read at the end of the year, it would say something like this:
Dear Self:
Don’t forget how awesome you are. You trained for a half marathon, are a pretty cool Mom, and have learned to follow a recipe like a BOSS! Keep drinking water, eating right and you will feel the results. The number on the scale is just a number. Feel better, live well, and love yourself.

I’ve never tried a Zone bar. I tend to throw an apple or an orange in my purse for snacking. So funny that your hubs ate one without you knowing!
I would get some Silk almond milk, Tom’s of Maine toothpaste, & organic fruits.
Very cute letter to yourself! I have never had Zone bars- What is the protein to carb ratio in them?
I love that you wrote a little letter to yourself. I am bad when it comes to snacking, it’s my downfall. These bars look great.
I haven’t tried Zone bars, but I do like other brands. They’re a better alternative when I get the munchies.
I really like Zone bars! I like to keep some in my car for when I get out of the gym and need a little pick me up snack!

I love the list of tips and your note to yourself! If you struggle to stay organized with your goals, I highly recommend posting weekly goals on your blog. This has been hugely helpful for me! Plus, you can always go back and see where you’re at with your goals!

The cinnamon one looks good! I do so much better during the day if I take the time to eat breakfast.

I’d buy organic peanut butter
These look like the perfect snack. I could toss them in my diaper bag or the car.
I need to swap my typical snacks. I’ve been buying lots of fruit so the kids are snacking a whole bunch better then they used to.
