Happy Halloween! I hope you and your family had a fun weekend with lots of festivities, candy and spookiness. We started our week out with a visit to see Chase’s Grandparents for lunch and some laughs. Scarlett and Red wore their festive skeleton shirts (and onesie!). Red was so proud and excited that were dressed similarly. I’m fairly sure that GrandMartha and Granddaddy thought it was cute, too.
Next up on the list was Aunt Sally’s birthday trip to the aquarium. We spent a few hours milling around the well-known exhibits and even noticing a few new animals on display. This tropical diver tank has a working “shoreline” and wave crash!
Leave it to Mama to wait and wait and wait for a trip to the pumpkin patch. There’s a beautiful local produce stand with gourds, veggies, and candies that sits on our road, so we made sure to support our local farmers and buy a big one. Red chose our pumpkin himself, “helped” to carry it to the car and proudly waved to the few other customers his toilet paper/plate ghost. Scarlett wasn’t amused by any of it…
Halloween night finally came and Red couldn’t wait one more second to don his “Dark” Vader costume, complete with cape, helmet/mask and glowing lightsaber. I bought Scarlett a Princess Leia hat with braided yarn buns from Etsy. Knitting and crocheting is not in my skill set! Chase was Obi Wan with a borrowed Jedi bathrobe and I twisted some Xmas lights all around my Star Wars T-shirt and was “A Galaxy Far, Far Away.” I’m secretly glad I only spend $10 on my costume because I ended up taking Scarlett back home after she lasted only 30 minutes!
How did you family celebrate the spooky weekend? What did you dress up as?
