How many of you have ever bought a new car and asked the entire family what they think BEFORE the purchase? How about your kids, who are most likely going to spend as much time in the back seat as you are in the front seat, playing taxi driver? I’m guilty of not asking our kid’s opinion until AFTER we bought our last two cars, but I was pleasantly surprised in Red’s reaction to our newest acquisition as well as a few other vehicles we’ve been in recently. With summer travel and car rentals, rides with family and friends, Red has become more vocal about his surroundings and his preferences. That meant when it was time to take a ride in the Chrysler Pacifica, he was completely in tune with the kid-approved features one of Kelley Blue Book’s Best Family vehicles.
One of KBB’s Best Family Cars, the Chrysler Pacifica, is joined in its ranks by the Toyota Highlander, Honda Odyssey, Chevy Tahoe, and others. We actually own a Highlander and I love it, so feeling extremely comfortable in another family vehicle on the Best In Class list didn’t surprise me. Red got to review the van on his own, telling me all about his favorite features. Check out the VIDEO below that he presented!
Kid Approved Perks
Red adored the built-in TVs that not only played movies and clips, but also allowed for single-user games/apps like Tic-Tac-Toe and Checkers against “the computer.” Add the wireless headphones and he would be a happy camper on road trips.
A family car perk that Red commented on (un-guided) was actually the ample trunk room. He said that he likes “lots of room in a trunk for suitcases to go on trips to the airport!” Typically, airport visits either mean Walt Disney World or visiting my parents, which are both very exciting for him.
The Chrysler Pacifica boasts two roomy captain’s chairs in the middle row, which Red loved, because it “felt like a front seat” but he could still be close to his sister (melt my heart, why don’t you!). The third bench row can pack away via electronic switches in the rear to allow “room for friends” but also more cargo space if you need it!
Double sliding doors are starting to come as a standard feature on many vans nowadays (back in the day, my family’s Chrysler Town & Country only had a single manual door), but the Pacifica features big windows and a sunroof. Red loved being able to see everything around him as we explored the car.
Driver Comforts
But after all this kid approved goodness, we can’t forget Mom and Dad, who will be driving this bus! I was impressed with the roomy “cockpit” of the Chrysler Pacifica, with ample storage space, one-touch power windows and plenty of creature comforts. Personally, I love seat warmers, Daytime Running Lights and good tunes to jam to. This van has all that and more!
As you head back to school and give the carpool lane a go, make sure you and your brood are safe and comfortable in a car that matters to you. Give Kelley Blue Book’s Best in Class Family Cars a peek, and maybe a trial! Pack those car seats and give your little ones a glimpse of the kid approved perks inside the Chrysler Pacifica or one of the other fabulous family vehicles.
I didn’t realize the Pacifica had a third row seat! Nice folding, too!
