Make Your Own Lipton Onion Soup Mix

By making your own Onion Soup Mix you can cut down on preservatives, chemicals and other formulas that you and your family may want to avoid.  Since we’ve been on a more natural, clean eating kick lately, Hubs and I have been experimenting with lots of other food options. If they don’t taste too good, then we kick them to the curb, but this was one little edible craft that we really enjoyed!
Lipton Onion Soup Mix
Ingredients:
8 teaspoons onion flakes
1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
*If you feel that the mix is missing a beef flavor, you can add a crushed bouillon cube.  Most mixes I buy are straight onion, and not beef – it’s your preference.  Roll with it!*
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.  Makes enough seasoning to equal one packet of Lipton Mix, or store for a few weeks, sealed.  Enjoy!

Hm…I’ll have to give this a try. I do my own taco seasoning, but never this. Which is funny because I don’t like the little dried onions.

But, doesn’t the soup have some beef flavoring in it? Did you find this similar?

If you feel like you’re missing the beef, you can add a beef bouillon cube – I haven’t found one yet that’s not at processed – the search goes on!

This is fantastic! I have Celiac and can’t use the good old Lipton mix. I’m definitely going to try yours and pin it so my Gluten Free friends can have a look! xo
