Something I’ve been hearing a lot lately is, “Mama! Take a Picture!” Which, in toddler, sounds more like “peekture.” With Red’s newfound fascination with the camera, I want to oblige his small requests. What I end up with is a smattering of photos that make up his world; things that he focuses on, that he sees and that matter to him. When put into a collection, it’s quite nice!
Red’s Blankie makes a regular appearance in his photos:
As do his Cars, Octonauts and any balloons that make their way into the house. This particular car was bought for Red by up and coming Racecar Driver Chris Buescher!
His Uncle Preston bought him a Hulk costume for his birthday, and Red demanded that I “take a picture, Mama” of him “Hulk smashing…“
Another important element in Red’s life? His “big boy cup.” We’ve been pleading with him to try a straw that wasn’t a sippy cup for what seems like forever. I suppose that he is very proud of this, as yesterday he asked me to help him take a picture of “my drink“:
Sometimes, Red wants a picture of himself, and when we were at Aunt Sally’s college graduation on Sunday, Red wanted just that. In the shade by the Magnolia tree, which was too perfect. I snapped a few quick shots, and this was one of them. Photo for the win!
And, of course, a few silly selfies never hurt, either!
My most favorite part was when I caught the entire ordeal on film instead of a still shot. I tricked Red a little bit into asking for a picture and “shooting” what he wanted… I find it so sweet and a perfect example of one of our photo sessions: (Click here if you can’t see the video)
What have you captured on camera lately?
LOL, you have trained him well! My kids always want me to take pictures of mundane things now, too!
We sure takes wonderful pictures!
Great way to have fun with kids. So nice to see things from their point.
He big boy photo looks great! Oh I love boys.. but don’t always understand them.. I have to admit.. maybe that is why God gave me 3 girls π BUT I do believe boys are so much more chill!
Cutie! My son is all about me taking videos of him!
Aww, so cute! I remember when my daughter was small, she loved to take pictures!
Red cracks me up! It was so good to see him in person today:) I love his footsie photography skills!
We have that same blankie! My girl’s fave! π So adorable with that mop of red!
What a sweet post! My son already knows how to take selfies. He puts the phone out as far as it can go and smiles. He just needs to learn how to hit the button to take the picture. π
Ah, he’s so cute! My little guy (age 2.5) has recently wanted me to take more pictures of him. And he loves the forward-facing camera on my phone.
It’s these every day photos that we’ll look back on the most fondly. Sweet T always wants me to take pictures of Buzz and Woody!
He is so adorable! My son has that Hulk costume as well. Do the hands make noise when he smashes things?
Good thing he’s super cute and photogenic hehe π He’s adorable in that Hulk costume!
Well the camera loves him, so naturally he does too. He is such a cutie
And those are such adorable pictures! My youngest is the same way.
My kids are the same way. I love when I go through my iPhone pics and find a bunch of really cute selfies.
Awe! These are such precious photos! My daughter loves to take a bunch of selfies of herself when we are driving in the car. I love finding them on my phone!
I love his Hulk costume! Enjoy this time while he wants to get his picture taken- mine tend to run from my camera!
love the hulk smash!! mine always want a picture and then want me to save it on my phone for a “screen paper”
So cute! I love fun and candid photos with my boys, too. The posed ones seemed super boring compared to the spontaneous ones. Red is totally adorable, by the way!
When my daughter was a toddler, I constantly had the video camera on. I used to get so frustrated when she would stop doing what she was doing (and what I was trying to video tape) so she could insist on “upsi-down” – meaning she wanted me to flip the viewing screen over so she could see it. I kick myself now every time I hear the frustration in my voice on those videos.
He’s just so darn cute and worth capturing on film! What precious snapshots you got.
Now that is a handsome young man you’ve got there! That smile of his is just contagious π
I just captured a great recipe I made myself yesterday and I also got some great shots of my sister on her graduation.
He’s such a cutie. That photo by the tree is great, it looks almost professional!
That’s such a fun age, their personalities are really growing then. Great pictures!
You have such a cute son!! Great pictures!!
Cute pics…..love the car!
Ha! My daughter is past the age of asking me to take a pic, but she takes plenty of herself! Your baby is just too cute!
These are cute. π My daughter’s the opposite and doesn’t like her picture taken at all these days (she’s a teen though ;)).
My little guy gets my phone sometimes and I’ll find a slew of selfies he’s taken. He does the same thing with his tablet. It cracks me up!
Precious! Love your photos and the stores with each one. It is so fun to get pics of the kids. I love capturing during play and when they don’t know I’m talking pictures.
My son’s prom pictures. Sniff…I still think of him as this age.
I used to love their food, too bad I swore them off after that unsavory bit of a CEO blunder.
I’m bummed I missed the behind the scenes! I like that they use software to predict their food requirements.
How cool. I’d love to be an ambassador. I’m already the “Major” lol, on foursquare, but I know that doesn’t count. I love our local Chick-fil-a, everyone is always so nice and the food speaks for itself. Congrats on your ambassadorship.
How does one become an ambassador? I would love it.
My kids are obsessed with pictures these days too. They want to see every single picture before I even have a chance to take it. Most of them are blurs because they’re running to me to see the picture as I’m taking it! LOL!
He’s a cutie! My kids love taking pictures of things!
Chick-fil-a lemonade is my favorite drink! I haven’t tried the new grilled chicken sandwich yet, but I’ve had some of the salads and the buffalo chicken.
My children like posing for photos making crazy faces that I am sure they will be embarrassed about people seeing a few years from now.
What a wonderful way to make memories of each developmental step!
Yay! So glad to see it.
Love that he asks you to take photos. He will treasure all this pictures when he gets older – and so will you!
We go through wanting picture phases here. And, that one of Red by the tree is my favorite!
