What a week! I’ve discovered that along with my second child I’ve developed an inability to remember anything, multitask or judge time. My week has flown by, and there was so much I got done, but even more that didn’t. We welcomed family, out of town friends and a mess of local friends in for all our events, and I’m bushed.
Scarlett’s christening was this past Sunday and it really was beautiful. Chase’s family church has an interim pastor that I LOVED. So warm, down to earth and completely approachable. I loved him. (And this is coming from a gal that’s not so religious).
I made sure to dress Scarlett in Chase’s christening gown and heirloom pins, my christening bonnet, necklace and lace-adorned shoes. Her little feet only filled them up 3/4 of the way, but she was so precious.
What made the occasion REALLY special were the people that traveled so far to be with us. My friend from college, Carly, came all the way from Chicago to be Scarlett’s godmother, and although her husband Chris and my other dear friend Leah couldn’t be there, I was thinking of them all day! Chase’s business partner, Tara served as another godparent.
Even my Mom and Dad came into town for the occasion, which I loved. I never get to see them enough, and am already counting the days until our three generations get to visit Turks and Caicos again for another social media conference. This “Mommy and Me” Monday is kind of two fold when you consider this shot! The dress Scarlett is wearing below is my christening gown; it was kind of funny that she was able to wear two dresses like some brides do! A ceremony gown and a “reception” gown! I’m still waiting on the photos from the church to come back – I think we have some really awesome shots of the entire family. How did you spend your weekend with the kids?
Linking this Mommy and Me Monday up!
What a blessing especially having those family heirlooms and so many special people to celebrate this occasion with you all.
