When you refuse to take a nap, despite Daddy’s best efforts, you fall asleep in a major way on the way to NeNe and Pop’s house.
Like, the limp sleep neck and drool all over the seat belt, having to be carried into the house and sleep for just five more minutes kind of nap.
But then you hear Pop’s voice on the playground, pop up like a groundhog in February, and run to play. Almost like the mini nap never happened.
No, wait. That’s right. The big nap didn’t really happen. And you get super cranky after ice cream and crash. Like a sweet boy. And Mama loves you anyway.

Car naps are the best.

Awe, he is too cute. I don’t nap well either, unless I am sitting at me desk at work and then I am SUPER eager to nap, but can’t. Hopefully he takes advantage of his nap time while he still has it.

Thank you! 🙂 He slept for 3 HOURS today after school, which was so nice. I got lots and lots of calls and work in!

And they happen so quickly – SO quickly!

Sometimes I take all my paperwork/ bills/ computer with me in the van because I know the little ones will fall asleep, and so I pull over and park and just do all my stuff right there in the van. If I try to “transfer” them from the van to their bed, they wake up and then that’s IT for naptime. So, I just stay in the van. Sometimes parked right out on our own driveway. A mama will do anything for some peace and quiet, right?

That’s a GREAT idea! My mom used to pull the car into the garage, unbuckle all the seatbelts, and since the kitchen was RIGHT inside the door, work on the same stuff. My 5 year old bro was in eyeline the whole time, so he could just hop out when he woke up. Much easier than NO nap!

They may be short, but sometimes I wish they weren’t happening at all. It makes the wake up process at your destination a cranky one!
