It seems as if before now, my pregnancy has been “ugh, I feel awful,” or “I haven’t been around because I’m too deathly tired.” Which, unfortunately is still sort of true, even as I approach 20 weeks tomorrow. (Half baked already?!?!) Granted, I’m feeling loads better than my first trimester, but work recently kicked into high gear for February, we finally sold our house (under contract… more on that soon!), and hunting for a new one is bringing a new level of stressful considerations to my life.
I apparently don’t know when to quit.
And I’ve found that the “second child syndrome” is already too true. By this point in Red’s pregnancy, I already had 19 weekly photos to compare bodily changes, and sadly, this time, I have 4. FOUR. It’s like life is in hyperdrive, desperately trying to reach the summer, and “Ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat.” (Love me some Sweet Brown) I figured a few of those bump shots qualified for Mommy and Me Monday, so I’m sharing them here in order to get my “two kids” both in on the picture (quite literally, I guess!). This first one was from our recent Beaches trip to Turks and Caicos, during our family sitting. It’s a little early for a formal maternity portrait, but this is still special to me.
This one, I made Chase grab of me and Red in the surf, with my super fun “beach BUMP” shirt I snagged on clearance. Perfect for bumm(p)ing on the beach.
This last one was from Valentine’s Day. I dug out the only red maternity shirt I’ve got (comfort, people!!) and made sure to pose with Red before I ran off to a 13.5 hour work day between two productions. I think it’s funny and quite cute that Red decided he was going to grab his belly, too. For those of you wondering, we find out the sex later this week, but Red is CONVINCED it’s a boy and has already named it Christopher. That’s actually one of his friends at school. We’ll have to see what name sticks. 🙂
Be sure to join in the link up over at Really Are You Serious? to share your photos!

So pretty! These photos make me happy. It’s a totally different world with two, but the joy you’ll get seeing them interact is the best thing EVER.

Aw, thanks, man! Let’s hope they get along, not like when I wanted to strangle my brother most of the time. I think I liked being alone.

Thank you so much! Me, too. I’m on pins and needles until Saturday. We’re doing a lunch party with family to reveal, even to ourselves!
Diana @ Nanny to Mommy says
I didn’t know you were pregnant! Congrats!
We didn’t find out the gender with our 11 month old son and my daughter if we asked her kept saying we were having a boy, so you never know. 🙂

Thank you so much!! I haven’t heard of a case where a sibling is wrong yet… but maybe there’s a first time??? 🙂
Susanna @Zealous Mom says
Oh my gosh! Perhaps I’ve been in a bubble or a barn, but I did not even know you were expecting baby #2. How exciting! Congrats, congrats, congrats! Hugs to you from afar.

you are so gorgeous – too bad we gotta break it to stinky we’re not naming the baby Christopher…
Redhead Baby Mama says
haha. It’s true. Poor guy is REALLY going to be dissapointed if it’s a girl… <3

Congratulations on your blessing. Second child syndrome is REAL! I would tape my first child doing the most mundane things, poor second baby has very few home movies.

I can’t believe how true it already is. By this point last time, I at least had half a baby book formula ready to go and write in. This time, nothing. 🙂
