This month (actually the past two months) have flown by in record timing. I can account for each day, each moment, with its struggles, joys and menial tasks, but the weeks as a whole I can’t account for. When someone asks me “what’s been going on?” I’m almost out of breath just thinking about what we’re up to. From my spring teaching gig at school to Mom2.0, to the awesomeness that was the Disney Social Media Mom Summit, it was an April on the road. May brought some family visits to SC, a huge fifth birthday for Red, and now school is wrapping up faster than a Christmas package.
As usual, I’ve been snapping away with my cameras, catching little moments and trying desperately to hand off the camera and jump in once or twice. If I’m honest, most pictures that actually contain me are on Snapchat, because those filters are too much fun and add a little sanity break during the day. (And by the way, snapchat filters on babies are just about the most awesome thing there ever was. If you want to play along, add me under my social handle, @redheadbabymama). Most of the photos I’m storing up have been in the last ten days weeks, since I’ve been home to catch my breath and catch up on life.
Red’s birthday was at a local gymnasium, and I actually caught my Mom running around with Red, collapsing onto a mat and snuggling him. I barely caught the action and loved watching them together.
Only a few steps away, T (my Dad) was helping Scarlett find her footing and early crawling skills on her own yellow gym mat. This past weekend she really found her speed and starting moving fast!
Red was overjoyed to get his extra birthday swings on the rope, plummeting into the foam pit, over and over. Top it off with a T-Rex birthday cake, and you had one happy kiddo.
So happy, in fact, that he wore himself SLAP OUT. I caught him “resting” on a bench at our choice of dinner restaurants, and I was so tickled that I snapped a photo of him. “Mama, I’ll just lay right here and wait for you…” Please know that I instantly (and tenderly) picked him up off that bench to make way for other patrons!
The other two members of the family? Well, I’ve been gushing to anyone that has two ears about Chase’s new movie, Captain America! I’m so proud of him and his business partner, working so hard on a blockbuster summer movie! Make sure you go and see it. More than once! 😉
Whenever I have a really accomplished day, I’m feeling like this:
Sitting atop my very own iron throne. Or prop throne. Or whatever. Either way, it was a bada$$ chair designed by my school department that looked awesome and performed just as well. Think they will lend it to be for my living room? It oughtta make for one heck of a conversation piece!

I LOVE that you put emojis in there. That makes it perfect… now I’ll just go over here and take down this sign. <3
