Remember last year when Disney announced they were going to revamp the Redhead (super fans just call her Redd) in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Walt Disney World Resort? I was soooooo worried! How could they change her? WE WANTS THE REDHEAD! I ran around the parks and the internet finding all the Redhead merchandise I could, hoping that I could preserve her memory. I found a Redhead Christmas ornament in Disneyland Resort last summer during my D23 trip, snatched my husband a Redhead shirt on a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, as well as Pirates anniversary D23 Alex and Ani exclusive bracelet!
But even with her original role gone, the Disney Imagineers did me proud…. don’t miss the VIDEO below with her new starring role…
The New Redhead, Redd
The day finally came for Disney to shut down the ride and install the updates, and it was a short time later that they reopened Pirates of the Caribbean (March 19, 2018) with the new female pirate. Instead of being the star item up for auction, our Redhead is now the lead auctioneer, brandishing a pistol and highly valued bottle of rum. You’ll even hear the male auctioneer’s famous lines refurbished with hints of his old script, which I loved.
Instead of We Wants The Redhead, the pirates call out, “We Wants the Rum!” What a clever use of script! Have you seen the new Pirates addition yet?
I think she looks good. I’ll miss the saying though for sure! We wants the Redhead!

Just glad we got to keep the redhead! Her new lines are perfectly script and makes her seem even more fierce as a Pirate woman! I can’t wait to see this new change. Thanks for sharing!
