We’re at a theme park, again! But this time, it’s much closer to home: Six Flags Over Georgia. Known for its epic rides, crazy coasters and groundbreaking thrills, Six Flags has opened a new family area right across from the classically decrepit Monster Mansion. It features four different rides that cater to the smaller crowd of guests, as well as a small arcade themed after Harley Quinn. Our family was invited to tour the new Six Flags Over Georgia DC Friends area.
Before we really toured the new area, Chase, Red and I stopped in the arcade area near Goliath, where we found new games where everyone wins! Sure, we blew $5-8 bucks, but Red and I both walked away with DC Friends capes to wear to our event, and we felt extra festive. Look at that smile! (Plus, I have been asked to wear my cape at least twice this week…)
We arrived to the new DC area, across from Monster Mansion, and I was glad we left Scarlett with a sitter – we all know what Six Flags is really a teen/grown up park, and Monster Mansion was most likely the only ride she would be on. The DC area caters to the smaller guests, but I saw a few toddlers and siblings that we were left on the sidelines because they were too small to ride with family or grownups were too big to help them ride.
The all-new DC SUPER FRIENDS area features five exciting rides and attractions, including:
- SUPERMAN Tower of Power, releasing the dare-devil in thrill-seekers of all ages to take on this 65-foot tall bouncing thrill ride;
- The BATCOPTERS, an opportunity to help save Gotham City by flying high in the sky;
- WONDER WOMAN Flight School, where pilots can earn their wings by flying their own jet;
- HARLEY QUINN Games, filled with villainous games to test your skills against the best in the family
- THE JOKER Funhouse Coaster, the supreme family thrill ride named after the ultimate Super-Villain, featuring 900 feet of track, speeding at 30 miles per hour.
Check out the video below, which gives you a detailed look at each ride area, what the programs are like and the brand new paint jobs on many of the areas. I really enjoyed the split of male and female superheroes here, it was subtle addition, but welcome to many parents.
The short day was so exciting that Red was worn out and sleeping after only 3 hours. We had a great time, but will wait a few years to bring his little sister to experience the Six Flags Over Georgia DC Friends area.
“We are excited to unveil this thrilling new section just in time for the start of the summer vacation season,” said Six Flags Atlanta Properties Park President Dale Kaetzel. “This area, combined with the addition of Bugs Bunny Boomtown earlier this year, solidifies Six Flags Over Georgia as the perfect destination for family fun.” The park is open daily through August 7, which heralds the return of school here in Georgia.
DC Friends looks like a ton of fun for the kiddos. Super heroes are always a great bet for kid entertainment.
My son would have loved this a couple of years ago. He’s been a big DC fan since he was tiny little.
I always love visiting Six Flags Over Georgia. The DC Friends area sounds like fun for DC fans.
We always went to 6 Flags Great America growing up and loved it! I would like to visit Georgia just to ride that Wonder Woman ride 😉
DC friends? I love that! Good to know if we ever get down to your area, thanks for this!
We have not visited a Six Flags theme park in ages, but I still remember how much fun they are. My son would surely go nuts over the DC Friends area.
This is really neat, I am glad you were able to check out this new Six Flags and have a blast there! Loving all of your family photos!
I’ve never been to a six flags before. I believe there was one in Toronto before I moved here but it closed down. I always hear how awesome it is, looks like so much fun!
I’m loving all of the superhero/supervillain themed attractions. It sounds like they did a good job making them kid-friendly.
What a great time! I haven’t been to a Six Flags in ages, I really need to find one close and visit. Red is getting so tall!
I would like to take my son in this place. Looks like your kid really enjoyed it!
What a lovely adventures for your boys. They look so happy. I would like to go to this place too.
DC comics rides sound like loads of fun.
That Joker Coaster sounds especially thrilling.
That looks like so much fun! It’s been years since I’ve been to Six flags.
What a great day it looks like you had. The capes are great (although the designer, Edna, on the Incredibles advises against them :). Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow this looks and sounds like so much fun! I’ll have to take my family there the next time we visit Georgia!
Sadly I have never been to a six flags. I bet my daughter would really enjoy it- she loves any kind of theme park. We have a six flags game for our Wii and we adore it!
Arcade games where everyone wins are the best! Glad you had a fabulous time. I’ve been to one, just outside of Chicago. It was fun. 🙂
This looks like it is so much fun! Your time there looked well spent.
I have always wanted to visit Six Flags. They look like they have so much to offer and that it would be so much fun!
I have always wanted to go to Six Flags. The one in Georgia looks fantastic. My kids would love the DC Friends area.
Six Flags is really taking the country into a fun-filled world! Let’s hope they bring out more theme-based rides and attractions like the DC ones!
The DC Friends area sounds like a little boy’s dream! Looks like your son loved it. I’ll keep this in mind if I can get myself to Georgia sometime. Looks like a must do!
