Our Better Breakfast with Cheerios

Do you eat breakfast? I do. Or at least I do now.  When I was in high school, I only ate breakfast on the first day of school – and that was only because Dad made me my traditional-first-day-of-school scrambled egg. I remember not leaving for Junior year until he came down and did it for me… I was perfectly capable of doing it myself, but, hey!  It was tradition!  Even throughout college, no breakfast. Maybe a granola bar.  As I’ve gotten older, been married and have had kids, I’m finally a breakfast eater. I’ve discovered the energy I have when I eat a better breakfast and I even lost weight when I started my morning breakfast routine. Woot! I’m constantly surprised how many families don’t have breakfast because they feel it isn’t important, or they don’t have time.  Chase and I make sure to wake Red up in time for breakfast every morning before school, and even on weekends, it’s the first thing we do. You’ve got to find time to give your family that important start to their day!

Sure, not every morning starts out with a four course meal with french toast (hello, weekends!), because time can be crunched by things like sleeping late, extra projects, or that hateful daylight savings time we all dread.  That’s why we are (honestly!!) big fans of Cheerios cereals and OJ.  One of Red’s first requests for breakfast was “ce-ye-al” and has been a favorite ever since.  The kid can eat three bowls in one sitting if we let him!  I don’t feel bad about it, either, because I know Cheerios is made from whole-grain oats and without artificial flavors or colors. And those little “o’s” have only one gram of sugar per serving, so that’s a #BetterBreakfast, for sure!

Cheerios and Orange Juice - a better start to breakfast!

Now, the OJ is my husband’s addiction.  The man puts it in his smoothies, has a glass with his cereal, and even if it’s the littlest glass, still incorporates it into his morning routine.  He’s actually admitted to me that he could drink an entire carton in one morning if he had no self-control… “liquid gold in his mouth,” he calls it… that just makes me laugh.  Does anyone know of a Florida Orange Juice Anonymous group I could send him to?!

100% Florida Orange Juice is a great start to your morning - all those vitamins!

But really, there are some great perks to OJ in the morning.  Florida Orange Juice has 100% of the vitamin C you need to maintain a healthy immune system and is also one of the most nutrient-rich fruit juices you can get, with plenty of potassium for heart health, B vitamins, folate and vitamin C! I’m sneaking glasses from his stash to help with my pregnancy – I’d rather EAT my vitamins than take pills.

Cheerios and Orange Juice - a good breakfast!

So how about YOU?! Are you eating breakfast every morning? You should!  Grab this Cheerios digital coupon and save $2 on 1 Cheerios and 1 Florida Orange Juice to make your breakfast routine a little easier (and cheaper!).  If you’re a Publix shopper, be sure to grab the Lucky Savings flyer in-store and save there, too!

Can we do a very un-unique recipe and just do cereal and milk? OR maybe a trail mix? But, one of my girls would love to make a cheerio parfait for sure!

My kids always have a good breakfast before heading out for school, we always have a good selection of foods they can make for themselves including Cheerios and orange juice. We buy a few different flavors of Cheerios and mix them for a fun breakfast.

I love Cheerios. They are so versatile and can be used so many other ways besides just as cereal with milk 🙂

Normally we make homemade breakfast cookies with Cheerios (or eat them straight from the bowl with milk), but I want to try the Peanut Butter Cheerios Popcorn Balls. Yum!

Cherrios is one of my faves since it’s oats. It’s so much more filling with the higher protein than other cereals. thanks for the coupon!!

I rarely eat breakfast with the family because I’m always rushing out the door. But you’re definitely right that we should always spend mornings with our families having breakfast. It’ just always special that way. Will absolutely try doing that. Thank you for sharing!
