This post is not sponsored in any way. I was honored to attend the Grand Opening of Pandora: The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as a part of the Disney Parks Moms Panel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you’ve ever considered the incredible amount of detail that goes into Imagineering and the storytelling that goes along with creating a new land within a Disney Park, take that notion to level 10 and you will get a result like Pandora. Disney’s newest land opened May 27th to the public, and I had the great pleasure of being a part of the Grand Opening celebrations. I rode Flight of Passage so many times in a row I nearly fell over, glided down the Na-vi river journey to be inspired by a Na-vi shaman, and trekked all over the 12 acres that make up the alien landscape inspired by the film, Avatar. I also splurged and bought myself the cutest little creature; a baby banshee that is hand operated, with sound and is “trained” to sit on your shoulder. The Banshees were so popular that the limited litter that was “hatched” quickly sold out and there were none to be had! I am very lucky to have snagged the light teal “Madame Mim” (as I named her) when I did!
You know me, so you know I love anything and everything Disney (in fact, be sure to ask me a question about planning your next vacation and get a personal answer!). Every summer is exciting at Walt Disney World Resort, but this 2017 blockbuster summer is filled with extra magic as Pandora – The World of Avatar is now open to the public. Stepping into the tropical alien landscape, walking under the massive floating mountains, and experiencing the two Pandora attractions is absolutely breathtaking and I’ve partnered with a few of my Disney-loving, blogging pals to share some magic with one of our lucky readers.
Banshee Giveaway
After riding your own banshee under crashing waves, into blooming, bioluminescent caves, and across the Pandoran plains on ‘Avatar: Flight of Passage,’ you can head to Windtraders and adopt your very own creature from their the Banshee rookery. Well, usually, you’re able to adopt one. The newly-hatched creatures are so popular, you’ll have to wait for the next batch to crack through their shells to by ready for adoption, but a few fellow bloggers and I have one ready for it’s forever home today!
