This post is probably too late to be considered by a reader for a Christmas 2012 project. I put it up a month ago and due to the Xmas craziness, am just getting around to posting it!
Our computer command center had to move from the coffee table to the kitchen countertop when Red started crawling and pulling up. This meant my usual countertop display area for christmas cards was no longer available. What to do?!
I found a posting on Pinterest and knew we needed something similar for our home. Off I went to get the widest ribbon I could find, which was sturdy and wired. And sparkly! I also picked up a few packets of clothes pins for attachments. (The wider the ribbon the better, so you can see more of your cards). Using some painters tape, I ran and secured the ribbon tautly around the cabinet door vertically. Frog tape is the BEST!
On the front side, I had all my clothespins ready to attach the cards. Somewhere along the line, that photo was deleted, so I only have the “finished” product to show you! The ribbon is almost completely obscured, we have so many cards this year! And man, I CAN NOT WAIT to paint my walls. The sponge painted yellow is killing me every time I take a photo inside the house now.
End result is that I maintain my counter top, the cabinets remain usable, and we get to see all our cards everyday. A much more Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much! I wish I had gotten a photo of it before all the cards went on – maybe as I peel them off. Merry Christmas!
