If you want to catch up on the potty training saga, here are the previous posts:
Now, Red just turned two, and while he’s not #2 trained at all, he is still putting 75% or more of the pee in the potty. For the last few months, I’ve NOT been stressing out about this. I’m not on a timetable to get him potty trained, we’re not going nakie around the house yet, and I consider anything that goes into the potty a diaper saved.
Since his birthday, Red has made leaps and bounds in the speaking department. Words and sentences, even. I was shocked – really? He’s talking already?! (Read about that here.) But with that speech improvement came communication of a different kind. If we don’t make it to the potty, Red will strike a potty stance, and call out, “Pee Pee!” as he’s going. Now, if you’re not a mom, or haven’t tried potty training, that’s a big thing. Vocalization is necessary for full potty training in my opinion, even if it’s the semblance of a word.
A few times he’s called out and we made it to the potty! Naps are “mostly” dry and overnight is still a way to go. But yay – LOTS of diapers saved, and that’s money in the bank!
