Red was invited to his first birthday party a few weeks ago, and the day had finally arrived. The little girl, turning 3, hosted an “Alice in Wonderland Tea Party” themed soiree, and it was delightful! We were told to wear our most eccentric hats, or it was off with our heads!
Her mom, Carly decorated everything – even the living room clock to look like the white rabbit’s pocketwatch – too cute!
The birthday girl’s daddy is Red’s godfather, Randy! (He was wearing the hat of Tweedledee. Or was it Tweedledum?)
“Alice”, Randy & Red |
Even “Alice’s” little brother, “Peanut” had on a funny little hat. One that MY Mama sent him from across the country. And I’ll have to say that he looked very cute in it!
Peanut! |
Some of the older 3 year olds were moving too fast for my camera, so I caught some of Red and his new friends and their hats. That is one cute monkey (and one happy Redhead)!
I think the nicest part for Red was being able to socialize with other babies near to his own age. Red and Peanut are only 6 months apart, yet Red was wide eyed and reaching out to touch “Peanut” and all his flapping arms. “Peanut” thought this was hilarious, doing his little baby laugh and smile, and we even got a squeak or two out of the process.
I think that being so busy with Hubs, work and the house makes me a selfish Mama – I want to spend as much time with Red as possible, and sometimes this results in a somewhat cloistered family unit. We need to get out more with other babies! Do you hear that, readers with babies – let’s hang out! “Alice’s” Mama is Carly – one of our really good friends, and a Mama x 2. She’s got her stuff down! I especially like her mini sequin sombrero! I think Red needs to go hang out with “Peanut” a little more. 🙂
The birthday girl gathered everyone around her mini-cupcakes. They were strawberry, as she has requested “pink” flavor cupcakes! We sang, clapped, and “Alice” couldn’t handle the excitement. She blew her candles out THREE times before the song was over – 3 wishes for her 3rd birthday.

Red had his fill of fun about 90 minutes into the party. He suddenly decided to crash and burn around 3:30, which tends to be his late nap. So this was us, vegging on the couch, watching the festivities unfold.
One tired Redhead |
It was a super fun party, and Red hopes his one-year bash will be just as good. We have our hearts set on a Cinco De Mayo theme, so stay tuned for that!
