Mommy & Me Monday: Red’s First Easter

What a wonderful day!! I’ll admit, with a day full of activities, any Mama of a napping child will know how dangerous a full schedule can be.  So I was wary.  I think Hubs felt my stress this morning and  helped extra to get us out the door on time.

But first, the Easter Bunny came to see Red… and pooped on our table! (mmmmm… raisins, and an old trick from my childhood. I remember the first time he pooped and my Nana ate it.  I was sooo wierded out!)  Lots of fun toys from many a loved one.

After we got all gussied up, we headed over to Hub’s family’s house for a big Easter lunch and an Easter Egg Hunt!  I made sure to get a photo of me and my little guy in his seersucker jacket and bow tie!
And it wouldn’t be complete without a family portrait! I really love this picture!

Nana Michael got some sweet little bunny ears on Red, and I think he liked it.  So silly!

A picture of all the siblings and the significant others. Minus Uncle Tim – he had to work!

After lunch, we headed to North Georgia to visit Hubs’ grandparents, and some of my most favorite people on earth.  Granddaddy and GrandMartha are so sweet, and they simply adore Red, which makes my little heart sing.  Granddaddy got ahold of Red as soon as we got there, and they loved on each other something awful.  A cute series of shots, but here’s the best one.

GrandMartha got Red a giant Easter egg to play with a sweet little plush bunny with orange gingham ears.  Mama and Hubs got to each the chocolate 🙂

The Egg was very special, and very big! Even though we had to leave it behind, it means more fun for next year.

A quick photo with all the cousins of this generation. Most of which we dont’ get to see that often, and we love very much! Red got a little scared with everyone hollering for attention to the cameras, and I can’t blame him. Hours without a nap will make anyone a little scared!

But smiles from GrandMartha calmed him down quickly, which game me my favorite shot of the day.  And you get to see his little bowtie.

Hubs and the older guys had a little race around the tree with bunny ears on for some chocolate and much to the delight of all the little kids.  They were squealing to see who would win!

Hubs wasn’t the fastest, but he was the fairest – he didn’t quite catch Caleb’s hand on the first touch, and that was the rule before you went back.  So he doubled back before he moved on!

We were so pooped out by the time we got home, but it was a very special day with lots of family.  Red had a great first Easter – I hope next year is as easy on all of us.  I hope that you had a wonderful day with your family, too! What did you do to celebrate the day?
Love from the Mama and Red.
