If you’ve seen Red play with toys at our house, you know that his Melissa & Doug chunky vehicles puzzle is his number one choice.
It’s one of the first things to come out in the morning, and nearly the last thing to get put up. Red takes the plane piece first, and crawls it around the house and all over Dooley.
The cruise ship is another favorite. (Early in his infancy, a great friend of mine gave him a Mysterio shirt, which predicted he would be a cruise director when he grew up, which makes me giggle).
Melissa & Doug is a GREAT toy company. They sell only educational and imaginative toys, and WE LOVE THEM. NO batteries. Need I say more?! Melissa & Doug toys are our go-to birthday presents, from the Wooden Birthday Cake Toy, to classic toolboxes, to pool toys. Red’s Vehicle Puzzle is handmade and painted safely for his little hands.
I know it’s meant for ages 2+, but Red is always supervised and these chunky puzzle pieces are WAY too big to swallow, with no handles. And the company is USA based – what more can we ask for?
This is so timely! I was just saying to DH that I feel like DS doesn’t have good basic educational toys! I know you posted the link but do you know if I can find them locally?
Yes! If you are in North Atlanta, there is an awesome store called Lizards and Lollipopz: http://www.lizardsandlollipopz.com/. I’m fairly certain that you can get a selection at Toys R Us and I know you can get even more at Target. I can’t say enough about how much we love the toys!
