I’ve been dying to do an Easter craft for weeks. In fact, I bought the supplies for this crafty dessert anytime snack about a week ago, constantly telling myself that I’d get around to making them. So, in the spirit of procrastination and all that goes with having children, I finally made my delicious S’mores peeps. (I know a lot of people make S’more with peeps traditionally, but this way, you don’t smash the cuteness and it’s a one-bite deal!) Honestly, I didn’t expect them to turn out half as well as they did, and the minute I tasted them, I was SMITTEN. I should have bought enough to fill a bomb shelter.
I melted some semi-sweet chocolate chips with a splash of non-fat milk in the microwave, stirring until the consistency was like pudding; nice and smooth. Dipping, my chicks’ bases into the chocolate, I then dusted their bottoms with teddy grahams that I pulverized in the food processor. Easy peasy.
So cute! The kids will love this. Thanks! 🙂
Aww, now these are seriously adorable! Such a creative way to make a Smores treat! Love em!
Oh yum! I have some Peeps in the pantry, I might have to try this!
I want to make these for my Grandkids, they love peeps and they really like smores. This will be a surprise for them.
LOL… Did you make them this way because you didn’t have the heart to “smash the cuteness” out of them or did you come up with the idea and saving their cuteness was a bonus? (They certainly don’t seem as messy!)
Peeps are my dads all time favorite Easter candy. I never thought to turn them into s’mores!
I love that your version doesn’t “smash the cuteness”. So totally cute! My boys would love these.
These look like such fun Easter treats! I bet they were a hit with the kids. Procrastination did win with me and Easter treats this year. I can totally relate, but at least you got around to doing yours
So creative! I love this idea!
these seem super popular. i’m surprised how much peeps have changed over the years
Very cute! I keep seeing Peeps snacks everywhere!
These are adorable! I’ve been seeing cute ways to make them on other blogs and this one is one of the cutest by far! I like that the Peep is still a Peep! 🙂
I made these with the kids a few weeks ago and they were a HUGE hit!
What a great idea! I love it.
Now that is super creative! What a great idea. I’ve seen the peeps in a traditional smore but this is really cool!
Thanks – they were easy and SO delicious.
Thanks! Would you believe there are only two left from the giant pack I made?!
Sometimes, it’s so easy to please them!
Thanks so much! Me, too. If I’m gonna use real peep, I still want to see it!
It’s the popular snack right now, for sure.
Yeah, they have all sorts of new varieties out now. I remember when they put out the bunnies. I was so happy!
lol, thanks. I never remember until last second for any holiday!
Thanks! I’m sure your boys would love them.
Hubs’ eyes almost bugged out when he bit one. The hard chocolate makes all the difference!
It was secondary… I see people making them like regular marshmallows, and I thought, why not layer it?! And yes, it’s a very clean way to have a smore. No crumbs, really!
ooooh. I’ll come over and help ya’ll do taste tests!:)
They will love it!
Weee! I’ll be over in ten to eat them all up!
Thanks!
yeah those bunnies are so cute i got a tickle when i first saw those
So cute and creative! I really love how you kept the peep in tact!
I’m going to break out the fire pit tomorrow for s’mores. I’m going to try the peeps though! How fun!
Those look really good! I would have never thought of assembling them this way.
I did like the Disney reference, lol. This is a fun recipe.
Kids would go nuts for these! I like that you don’t smash the cuteness.
Your S’mores peeps turned out really cute! I want some now.
Those are so cute. My kids would love them.
How cute! I made Smores Peeps as well for Easter- aren’t they just delicious, melt in your mouth good?
How cute! What a delighful idea for the Easter!
I don’t think I have seen Peeps done like this before. Such a fun idea and delish!
How cute are those? OMG, my boys will LOVE these.
That is such a great idea. Peeps are the classic Easter treat, and they’re marshmallow. Makes total sense to me!
I think if an Easter basket doesn’t contain peeps, then it’s not really an Easter basket…lol. That being said, my daughter is really into smores right now so this sounds like a fun project for her.
agreed! They are a must in my own basket. That, and a hollow chocolate bunny!
You just elevated Peeps to an entire new level! I bet that combo tastes so yummy!
These sound so yummy. I will have to make some for my son, he loves S’mores and Peeps.
What a yummy idea. Peeps are one of my favorite Easter treats so I know this would be right up my alley.
Now these would make a fun craft for my Girl Scouts. We’re all about S’Mores in our troop!
This is such a clever idea! That flavor combination is perfect and the Peeps end up looking super cute.
I don’t even know why I never thought of peep s’mores for campfire time. This is a brilliant idea and I will have to try it as we plan to do a campfire soon!
I’m not usually a fan of Peeps but I’m thinking these would be worth trying! We love S’mores at my house!
My kids are crazy about Peeps! I’m going to surprise them with this awesome twist on what now seems like boring ol’ Peeps. They’ll never go back to eat them straight out of the package again.
This is such a delicious idea. I will have to get the ingredients i need to make this on the weekend. My kids will love it.
I bet they were tasty. I’m itching to do Easter crafts too. I think we’ll do them this weekend. 🙂
My kids so love Peeps and would love to try this! They love Smores! What a great idea.
