I was so happy to visit St. Louis again! The last time I was there was two years ago, when I took the whole family (at that time, 3 of us!) to visit Mom and Dad for Dad’s birthday. We surprised him and gave him his first flying lesson, and he’s been navigating the skies ever since (totally a bucket list item for him!). This time I visited MO as a solo parent, while Chase worked on awesome projects like Stranger Things (Seriously, you guys…. binge the short series on Netflix and be highly entertained. Marvel at the perfection that was the props and costume department!). This was the first time I flew with both kids alone, and for the trip going out, they were perfect. Red was a big helper at the airport and Scarlett napped and looked around. Coming back? Well, let’s say they were both a little tired…
Since there is an epic amount of things to see and do in St. Louis, Mom and Dad planned a few different experiences for us this time, with a few favorites thrown in. The St. Louis Zoo was one of our first stops, and we HAD to ride the train!
We found a waterfall entrance to the Africa exhibit, which was a gift from the company Dad works for. Photo opp!
I had my first chance to see the City Museum, which is an enormous building filled with functional art; a play-place, caves, a rooftop exploration center, most of the art is touchable and interactive. Nearly 100% was reclaimed from the city in terms of scrap metal and recycled parts. It’s amazing, ugly, gorgeous and incredible. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in town.
And this photo… was a long time coming and a belly full of laughs. My Mom is known for rocking her awesome caftans. They are beautiful and comfortable to wear around the house… and I wanted one. Santa delivered a beautiful one that I will wear at home in the evenings over a glass of wine. Because J. Peterman told me to. 😉 Since Scarlett is the newest girl in the family, well, she needed one, too! Mom found a soft caftan that was actually a swim cover up in the toddler section and snagged it up. When she presented it, I almost doubled over in laughter. A baby caftan!!
I had a ton of fun with Mom and Dad, and I think they had fun with us, too…
The kids certainly behaved themselves and loved going on an adventure every day. Thanks, Mom and Dad, for showing us such a good time!

Looks like an amazing trip! Love the Kaftan. I’ve not been to St Louis but hopefully the next trip to America can solve that. xx
