I’m still training for the #PrincessHalf Marathon with RunDisney. It’s hard, and there are some days that I really don’t like it.
But I keep pushing myself. My goal isn’t to win, or even place, but to cross the finish line before the little balloon lady walks herself across that line. I want to be able to run, walk, take pictures with the characters, and FINISH. That’s all.
In order to meet my goal, I run 3 times a week, one of those days for distance. Every few months, Hubs and I pony up a little cash and run a timed, organized race, like the 5K we did last Saturday. This time, it was a little too early for Red to be happy about it. This brow you see below met most of the people we encountered, included my siblings-in-law. I’ll have to say that I wasn’t a happy camper either. A 6am wake up call, having slept 5 hours and worked like a dog the entire week wasn’t working with a 5k very well.
I ran the 5k in 32 minutes, which I was completely happy with considering how tired I was and that I was pacing with Hubs and the jogging stroller. (He’s still much faster than me even pushing Red!). I ran the whole time, no walking and hardly any huffing/puffing. This 5k was my sister in law Sally’s very first 5k, and she interval ran the whole thing, finishing and looking very happy!
After the run, I helped myself to a THREE HOUR NAP. That’s right:I was one tired girl. In fact, I think I’m still recovering. Have you been pushing yourself too hard? How do you cope when you just have too much to do? I’m all ears… just wait for me to wake up a little more!
