It’s that time again! UGA fans gather in Athens, GA on fall Saturdays for head to head matches in beer pong, cornhole, grilling and…. football! For the season opener, I was so happy to have my Dad with me at our tailgate, even if he was cheering for Clemson! Truth be told, there were lots of Clemson fans since the city is only 90 minutes away from Athens. Everyone was super nice, and we all had a great time without giving each other grief. But to keep the spirit of friendly competition, my Dad and I decided that the loser of the game would buy the other ice cream. Everyone wins in that bet!
Hubs brought his Dad, too, so it really was a family affair! Red stayed home with my Mom watching the game on TV in the very cool (and much missed by me) air conditioner.
Hubs got his dad to play his first game of beer pong, and I had a chance to play cornhole with my mine. These boards someone brought with them were so thin, and I LOVED how portable they were compared to the giant 2×4 heavy versions you normally see. Me likey!
The stadium was absolutely PACKED, 92,000 strong. What a beautiful spread!
Thanks, Dad, for coming to the game with me. I really loved having you there with me! I know Hubs loved having his Dad there, too. Here’s to a fabulous season for UGA – Gooooooooo DAWGS!
I’m SO excited it is football season! Not much college ball up north, but we throw a pretty amazing tailgate party for the Ravens!
My son tailgated at a UCONN game on Friday. His first game- he had a blast. Not sure how we can top it, they were with semi-professional tailgaters !
Wow, it looks like you guys had a blast tailgating! We don’t usually go to games because it’s so freaking hot in Miami, so our tailgating at home is pretty boring in comparison!
Tailgating with the family is so much fun – even if you’re rooting for different teams. I live in Chicagoland, and I catch Holy Heck for being a Packers fan.
That looks like a blast! I’ve only ever been to one football game and I was 8 months preggo and the DD for everyone else. I’d like to go again so I could actually enjoy myself this time!

Looks like a great way to spend time with family and make new friends. We aren’t too into football around here but we do like tailgating inspired food. Yum! Oh, and playing cornhole, our kids love it, too.

Tailgating is way more fun when there are more people. We always tailgate for Patriots games.

I have never done this but man it looks like so much fun! The most I have ever come close, I guess, is watching fireworks and bonfire from a tailgate .. if that counts 😉
I love football season. My husband and I bring our boys to a preseason Bears game each year and they adore it. It IS fun for the whole family.

Tailgating is so much fun, it’s the one thing I love about football season. Especially when it’s at the stadium, the energy in the air is great.
I’ve always heard that tailagating was fun. I’ve never done it. It’s on my list though. Not sure how I missed that in college!
